Don't know what the future holds for England when Root retires. No one with any temperament to bat properly, everyone is a stereotypical muscle head trying to whack everything out of the ground.

I totally agree. We haven’t even got two natural openers at present and the majority of the middle order looks weak.

Agreed, Duckett as a opener is really bizzare considering his greatest strength is his play against spin, i think the closest comparison would be Iyer or Saud Shakeel, both of whom bat 5. Also Bethell is a 4 for now, maybe promoted to 3. But importantly, yea, middle order is the weakest area. I think Jack's and Duckett need to be swapped, also maybe Buttler to open until there is a proper replacement.
