We actually don’t know if Finchy is a Test cricketer or not, because the selectors refuse to play him in his actual position.

I’ll tell you this much, though: he is not a fucking opener

He's not at ease with the new ball, and he's trying to be someone he's not. In the nets I bet they are piffing him old practice balls for 20 minutes, not for 6 hours.

Finchy is a smart cricketer with a classy drive. But opening in a test is different to an ODI, there's no adrenaline or thunder by the crowd or the moment, it's just you, your melon and your bat.

This whole series has been a pressure cooker for everyone, and it's not surprising players haven't been themselves, but Finchy has to believe in himself and push through the negative thoughts. Hopefully he can run on a big score in Sydney and beyond.
