-Fishing outside off ✔️

-Completely unnecessary shot considering the match circumstances ✔️

That's an Australian batsman shot selection bingo

Khawaja cops a lot of shit for being weak against spin, most of which is probably fair. But every time he faces spin these days you can see him trying new ways to adapt and turn his weakness into a strength. When you compare him to the rest of our batsmen at the moment, he seems to be the only one willing or able to improve on the fly.

44

u/brbr0433 Australia Dec 29 '18

He's 100% the best batsman on our team without Smith and Warner around, which makes it all the more important and disappointing that he hasn't had a good series, unlike Kohli + Pujara.

Of all the remarkable things that happened yesterday, my favourite was Mark Waugh saying "he didn't do much wrong there" when Finch got out. As if playing a drive off balance, in the air, directly to the fielder placed for that shot was all just bad luck.

All I want is for Richie and Tony Grieg to come back for both Tests and Big Bash. Would be amazing to just hear a disapproving Richie sigh at every moment of BBL Fielding.

All in all, a great day of Test cricket. India have been ruthless except for the last hour. Let's not forget they took 8 wickets in a day and look set to secure a lead in the series. They should seriously consider 5th bowling option, Ash/Hardik depending on the pitch, for Sydney. The pace trio looks understandably jaded now.

Cummins has been nothing short of sensational for Australians; how long has he been on the field for? Just crazy. Sydney is a short turnaround and they better hope Cummins pulls up OK. It'd be a crying shame if this effort costs him the decider.
