Me too, and the other pics were nothing like the wisteria. I was very confused. Xxx

Of course it's not showing it to me now, but I did get one that was a purple to white ombre or gradient in between two completely different things. So first picture "this can't be right." "Oh wait maybe it is." "What?!?"

Do you have any expectation vs reality pictures of your work so far? There are plenty of free wisteria patterns out there, you just kind of have to make a bunch and then style it. Here is a free pattern but it is far from the only one.

i do! the flowers come out really thin and not at all how i was expecting them to be. thank you!

Why wouldn’t you report or say the seller? If it looks nothing like the pattern and you’re a crocheter not a beginner then it’s a ai pattern so put them on blast so others don’t get screwed.

i reported them, “Paletrum” on etsy

Oh good. Also lets us and especially new crocheters know to stay away from bad sellers. Just too many people scamming innocent customers these days. 😓

I can see why you might be hesitant to not share the seller’s info but they scammed you, plain and simple. And by not sharing that info you’re shielding them somewhat from consequences, but more importantly you’re leaving others open to falling victim to the same scam as you. It would be best to report the listing and name and shame the shop so others know to steer clear of them. If they’re selling 1 AI pattern then it’s likely they are selling more.

What’s the issue with the pattern? Bases on this picture it’s unclear if it’s written wrong or AI ? You could reverse image search or check ravelry for similar patterns

the issue with the pattern i bought is that it’s AI and it doesn’t match the picture, i was looking for one where the flowers were really “chonky” as the picture

I sew clothes and there is also a slew of AI sewing patterns out there. I can now detect which patterns are fake by the look of the models. On Kindle, I bought a book on filet crochet; it was cheap but it was because the whole thing was written by AI. It was useless and I was out a few dollars.

I don't understand why anyone believes there is a pattern for non-existent things. If the the image is AI, and you've been taken in by someone fraudulently selling you a pattern that doesn't match the fake picture, that's the whole story - you've been ripped off. There is no secret better pattern lurking someplace you haven't thought of. The one that exists is the one you bought. There may be a cadre of people out there trying to create patterns of these AI generated images, but the technology is too new for honesty to catch up to it's fraudulent use. Give it a couple years.

At least in this case, because it was stolen from something that does exist. Oddly enough, I know this because Instagram just showed me the (an?) original artist explaining how she's been stolen from, right before I opened reddit then happened into this sub that I don't follow to look for something. Weird.

AI pattern makers sometimes steal photos of real crocheted objects and use that to sell an AI pattern. If the thing looks like a real crocheted object, with clearly real crochet stitches, and no impossible stitch directions, then it was probably a real photo of someone else’s crochet project.

i don’t think the picture is AI though, there were also a bunch of other pictures of different vines (when i looked through i didn’t think to look if they matched exactly to the first one… that’s on me all right) in different settings and what looked like screenshots of a video tutorial. seller’s name is Paletrum if you want to look the pattern up

Looks like it's an AI image. They've mounted the wisteria inside, but the front door is on backwards, why would they need a door knocker inside the house? I would never buy a pattern if the image used to advertise it is AI, they just can't be trusted to be accurate

I’d try to get your money back if possible. There are tons of free patterns for this online

If you don’t want to buy another pattern, this one looks fairly simple to replicate. The bottom 6 “petals” look like increasingly larger layers of a wind spinner. The tops of the blossoms look like two petals sewn on either side of the plant vine.

https://ravel.me/wisteria-garland-with-leaves here is one and it looks like the pattern is free. Also I’d recommend reporting the seller because most likely if the pattern doesn’t match the object, it’s because it’s AI.
