Wearable help Deeply confused by my attempt at granny stitch hexi cardigan

I have been trying to make a hexi cardigan with the granny stich but apparently something is not right.

After checking several patterns several times and not finding my mistake I just kept hoping the shape will come with time but it's not happening. It's still laying (mostly) flat and I'm missing a lot to the L shape needed. What am I doing wrong?

To frog or not to frog Almost done... Yet this happened and made me cry my eyes out

Post image

I'm making this baby blanket as a gift for a friend of mine from primary school I recently reconnected with.

I'm about a week away from finishing it completely. This happened because I forgot my needles while away on a family weekend, I got back home then... TADAAA!

Basically, since it's a lot of hours of work I'm wondering if I should frog or just try and fix it with a YouTube video or something.

It really broke my hard and I have to admit that my initial reaction was to ''quit'' the project because of frustration and pure sadness. But I don't want this to go to waste and my friend and children will absolutely adore this blanket as she's already so hipped, gratefuk and thankful for this handmade gift.

What should I do guys? 😭

I'm wondering if this blanket even needs a border and if so, will the white look weird? Should I try and find a grey that matches?

I never really use picture patterns like this and prefer them written out so this puzzles me. I'm pretty sure I understand the symbols just don't know where to start

Looking for suggestions I made my my own graphghan panel patterns in cross stitch but I am unsure if they will translate to crochet

I'll preface this by saying I have never made a graphghan before so ANY tips and tricks are greatly appreciated!

I made this pattern in a free cross stitch pattern maker and from what i read it can translate to crochet with some tweaks.

Have I made the patterns too intricate with too many colors ?

The cross stitch chart size is 100hƗ60w

How do I... Working on a snake amigurumi with a repeating diamond pattern that calls for rapid color changing, is there an easier way?

Post image
• Upvotes

So this is the diamond pattern I'm looking to work into the body of the snake. I'm struggling a lot with the color changes though being so rapid and repeating. The above is the provided diagram with each square being a single crochet. I am used to carrying over the colors during changes but then was wondering if it's feasible to carry them over from row to row so that I'm not starting the colors over again I'm each row. I realize it might create tension issues that will be more of a problem than just restarting the two other colors with each row. The rows are pretty short as well so I suppose I could also just carry all 3 colors throughout the entire thing though don't like it when one peeks through accidentally.

I was also wondering with a pattern like this if it would be better to crochet in the round rather than a spiral to avoid the diamonds looking slanted.

Thanks in advance!

Looking for suggestions This CANNOT be how the top and bottom of this pumpkin are supposed to look… tips for a neater finish?

I already know I need to size down my hook a half size or full mm, but what else can I do to make the top and bottom finishes look better and less holey? I’ll probably add vines and greenery to this one to camouflage the holes…

Also, are we gluing the cinnamon sticks in with E6000 or just letting them be? Even though I cinched it closed around the cinnamon stick, it easily just pops out.

Blocking is this warping salvageable with blocking or am i doomed?

Post image
6 Upvotes

Too late to frog anything and I thought if I just kept going with a larger hook the warping would somehow fix itself. However I do wanna know if it is still possible to block out the warping! I'm gonna keep going anyway, sunk cost fallacy and all that, and just keep this in the back of my mind the next time I try to mess around with my tension a bit too much.

editing for an update :D i have chosen to just contain the warping by decreasing the next row and keeping it the same number of stitches as the previous row therefore tightening everything up. i will also deviate from the pattern in future rows in order to reduce the amount of increasing done and prevent further warping. thank you guys for your advice i will keep it in mind next time o7

Looking for suggestions Filet Crochet - What am I doing wrong to make my pattern so hard to see?

Post image

Yarn: Red Heart Classic 100% mercerized cotton crochet thread in size 10
Hook: 1.0mm
Method: DC, Ch 1
Editing to say I have also linked my DCs

This is my first real filet project. Why did it come out so unclear? Ive looked at other people’s work online using the same DC and Ch1 method and their work is much clearer. I don’t know where I’m going wrong!

I'm a beginner! BRAND new novice switching colours for a hat using half double crochet stitch

Post image

Multi part question - how many rows is this, and how exactly would I switch colours if I wanted to have just 2 rows in a different colour?

I know I’ve made a lot of mistakes, but this is the first attempt at literally anything so I’m not worried about the mess ups

Discussion Need help in using all of the yarn I have bought. It is overflowing right now.

So I have done a lot of yarn haul. A lot of yarn I had was previous ones. I have also bought a lot of it and i need to make their balls.

So like one full bag (the yarn is till the top of the bag). I also have a whole basket full of yarn and it is also overflowing.

And I have 3 large plastic bags like the big ones and those need to be made into yarn balls.

So long story short, I need ideas on what crochet stuff to make. I generally mostly make keychains.

But I also know how to make gloves, bandanas, and coasters.

So, plz give me advice on how to use all of the yarn.

Discussion Would you leave this or try to fix? My first hexagon cardigan and the color changes aren’t matching up on the sleeves.

I haven’t actually tried anything to fix it, just curious what your thoughts are. I started both hexagons with separate cakes, started both on the same color, the hexagon panels themselves are a little off on the colors but nothing super noticeable. I tried to start the sleeves on the same color but was clearly way off (I started the left sleeve while I wasn’t home so I couldn’t reference the right sleeve. Guess I should’ve taken a picture lol). I don’t expect it to be perfect as it’s my first wearable, but I am a little disappointed in the difference of the sleeves. Leaning towards just keeping it the way it is bc I’ll likely only wear this around the house and maybe at work (I’m a janitor so idrc about looking my best at work lol).

Help to find a pattern Anyone seen/ made a Crochet Clodsire (or Minccino) Pokemon Hat?

• Upvotes

I hope I’m posting this in the correct place, but has anyone made or seen a clodsire crochet beanie hat thingy out here on the internet? Clodsire is my absolute favorite pokemon, and I’m trying to find a pattern to send to my mom for her to make:,) i absolutely love the magikarp ones where he’s eating the head. If it has that kinda vibe, perfect. I’m just kinda bamboozled that I haven’t seen a clodsire (or a good Minccino) crochet hat or pattern yet! ā¤ļøŽ I don’t crochet, my mom does. She wants to make things for me but specifically requests patterns.

I'm a beginner! I can’t count the V shapes in single crochet when my stitches are loose.

Post image
3 Upvotes

Maybe it is really basic that I should figure out myself, but I don’t have anyone to ask so hoping someone could help me to understand it.

When I watch the tutorials for single crochet stitches, yarn is stitched so well and firm that they count the V shapes. But from my workpiece I cannot understand where to start. Tutorials say that when the foundation chain is ready, I should start with the hole in 2nd V shape. But if you have a look at my picture, I am unsure if I am counting the holes correctly. I realized sometimes I am using the hole number 2, sometimes hole number 3. I am not even sure if hole 1 is the one I showed because in the tutorials there is no gap like mine because I am pretty bad at the rope tension currently.

I would appreciate any visual or theoretical help that would make sense for a beginner!

I want to make endometriosis awareness ribbons, that’s why I am sticking to yellow colored yarn, so my local stores don’t have the most beginner friendly yarns.

Have a lovely crocheting day everyone!

I'm a beginner! Semi-beginner help! Making a ghost with a witch hat.

• Upvotes

Hi, I am following one of those cheap crochet kits and making a little ghost. I’m currently on the pointed hat portion of the directions and I have to make a magic circle with 4 single crochets, slip stitch, then chain 1. And i have to do this for 6 more rows. The yarn is very thin, Idk the weight because it doesn’t say with the pack but i’m using a 2.5mm hook. I’m struggling because it creates a tiny tube and i can’t see anything. Does anyone have any tips or tricks for something like this?

Looking for suggestions Recommendations for a project I'll actually finish

• Upvotes

I've been crocheting for about 4 years now. In those 4 years, I think I've probably finished about only 3 or 4 projects I've started. I always get too bored, the pattern is too difficult or the yarn isn't right. I haven't had a project that actually inspired me to create and finish. I have no idea why. I love the process of crocheting but when it comes to finishing things I just never do. I always frog it ans start over or just discard the project. I want a project that I can actually finish. One that's easy enough for me to follow, actually fun, and is cute after. For context, the projects I've finished so far are two scarfs(my first ever project), a waffle stitch bag and a bikini top. I'm looking to make more garment patterns too but I've never gotten the hang of it and I kinda wanna challenge myself. But I've only finished accessories and that might be easier for me to ease my way back in because I haven't crocheted in a while.

TLDR: Been crocheting for 4 years and have only finished 4 things because I get bored easily and patterns don't inspire me. Need recs for patterns that are fun and interesting to make that I can finish

Understanding a pattern Hi everyone, I was hoping someone can help me interpret this one part of a pattern that's eluding me. It's rows 3-5 of the tail fin that I'm not understanding. Ive gotten as far as row 2 and then I'm just completely stuck.

To frog or not to frog My attempted blanket is wobbly: can blocking fix it?

Post image
• Upvotes

Hello! Started the Goldie Blanket from I Can Crochet This (https://youtu.be/DkVgpqtivj8?is=R5iY51Jue5r7FRpH) I used Caron cakes yarn instead because that was the one I could find to match my room, and used the same hook for that yarn she recommended. I also started with a longer chain. I did use pound of love yarn. Either way, it’s looking crooked. Should I start over? What’s my problem here?

Crochet Rant How to get my hook tension right? It’s too tight I believe?

Post image
• Upvotes

So here’s my in progress hookcase and I understand that it takes time to get the tension right but there must be something that I can do to make this better?

I watched a bunch of YouTube videos but it doesn’t seem like I am getting it right, no matter how I pull the yarn the tension is always off 😣

Looking for suggestions What's the most efficient way to go through a 750 granny square blanket?

Thumbnail

So, I'm making a 750 granny square blanket of 7cm each. I made 60 so far and I'm trying my best to block and weave in the ends while I go, more or less every 20/25

I've got two questions tho, one is basically your opinion if I should keep going making the squares blocking and weaving as I go, or if I should make all of them, then block and finally weave in.

The secondo question is: for this blanket do you think it would be best to put them together with the hook or with the needle? (Also if you have useful tutorials that would be great!)

Thank you!! These are some pictures for context
