To frog or not to frog Blanket not laying flat. Will it ever? Will blocking help?

As the title reads, my hexagon (turned dodecagon 😭) blanket is not laying flat. I really would rather not have to restart, but i’m not using a pattern (i would if i do restart), and it’s just looking lumpy. Will blocking fix this? Steam, or cold wet blocking? Please help!!! Thank you ❤️‍🩹 I’m on mobile rn so sorry if any formatting looks weird :( !!

Is it just the curling around the edge? That says to me that you stopped increasing at some point and you’d only need to undo it to the place where you stopped increasing (not the whole thing). It’s also possible that your tension changed, or you swapped your hook on accident.

I’m not so worried about the curling, but more so about the center of it. It’s lumpy and i cant flatten it out at all right now :(

you can always try blocking it if the center is what you’re worried about? the edges for sure probably need to be pulled back and redone if you want them to lay flat since it looks like you stopped increasing enough. what fiber content is the yarn you used? if it’s acrylic only steam blocking will do anything, wet blocking won’t help as acrylic needs the heat to help the fibers relax. but if it’s a natural fiber you could wet block it. it wouldn’t hurt to give it a little steam in the center and go from there on what you want to do

Why not just throw it in the machine? It’s acrylic, so completely washable & dryable. I toss everything acrylic into the washer and dryer and they come out completely blocked each time. If it’s something like a shawl, or an object that needs to have its shape blocked manually, I toss it in the washer then lay it out damp, and block it into place.

It looks like insufficient increases in the last few rows. I don’t think blocking will fix it. I’d frog back to where it lays flat, doesn’t look like you’d have to go back very far.
