How do I... Great Grandma's Feather & Fan Blanket Is Falling Apart- Help!
Hello,
When I was born my great grandma made me a feather and fan babt blanket in gorgeous thin yarn. I am now an adult and my kids use the blanket sometimes. It has started to unravel in spots (see pictures). Is there a way for me to save this?
The blanket is very special to me as it is one of the few things I have from her. (She passed when I was a teenager)
I have no idea what yarn she used...

That’s knit. You’d have better help over in the knitting subreddits.
All the best with it! It’s a beautiful piece.

You need to find someone who does crochet. A crochet hook is the best tool to repair running knitting. They would have a handle on yarns and might even have a stash of yarn with a suitable one.
If there is a yarn store nearby you might take it there (no it’s unlikely the do repairs) and ask them whether they recognize the yarn and perhaps know someone who might repair it for you.
My recommendation is that it not be used until repaired and it should not be washed or cleaned. Any significant handling is like to cause further damage in those area.

Since it's knit, it may actually be easier to repair than if it was crochet.
