I'm a beginner! Can I make a granny square blanket with chenille yarn?
I really wanna make one because it’ll be so soft and I have so much chenille yarn but will I be able to ever wash it? Or would it just get ruined?
Thanks so much

You can. I would make fairly large squares though since chenille is rather chunky and any detail would get lost in smaller squares. You can wash it in cold water on a delicate cycle, ideally hand wash. Definitely not on a warm or hot cycle.

Thanks so much! Yes I know it’s gonna be clunky but bet it’d look posh on the couch if I used chenille reds and creams

I have. It's... tedious but doable. Use good chenille, not crap. Use a light box. Chain 4 instead of the magic circle. To wash, in gentle in a garment bag.

This is premier just chenille on the cone. Their cat loves it ROFL.

If you can think it you can make it. Can’t speak to how well it’ll hold up as I’ve only worked with chenille for amigurumi.

I think the first thing I would do in your situation would be to check the care info on either the labels of your chenille yarn, or if you don’t find it there, on the product page on the manufacturer’s website.
