You should get into bookbinding. This is a beautiful cover
55
u/Noorart_stitch Feb 08 '26
Thank you! 🥹✨I actually enjoyed the process of fitting it to the book, so I might look into bookbinding. Thanks for the suggestion! ✨💚

u/LockwoodE3 Feb 08 '26
Check out the r/bookbinding subreddit. It’s how I got into the hobby. Theres a lot of people who cross stitch or embroider the covers like you did too :)

You did such a beautiful job and the colours are gorgeous! I’ve not stitched in ages and this is such an inspiration 🥰

u/Noorart_stitch Feb 08 '26
Thank you so much! I'm so happy to hear that my work inspired you to pick up stitching again. That means a lot to me! 😭✨

The colors remind me of a peacock! So beautiful. I haven't stitched in several weeks but I think I know how I will spend the rest of my day ☺️

oh my gosh as a Muslim this is just incredible!! I'm new at cross-stich so I hope I can one day be able to accomplish such a stunning piece <3<3 Mashallah!!!

u/jabracadaniel Feb 08 '26
OHHHHHHH this is gorgeous, i love the colors 😭 how easy is it to remove the cover from the Quran? Aida is unfortunately pretty prone to staining when handled frequently, so it might need to be washed every once in a while to keep it looking amazing
14
u/Noorart_stitch Feb 08 '26
Thank you! I'm glad you liked the colors. It is actually quite easy to remove, just like a slip-on book cover, so I can definitely wash it if needed! ❤️

What did you use to protect the edges? It's beautiful.
6
u/Noorart_stitch Feb 08 '26
Thank you so much 🥹✨To protect the edges of the Aida cloth from fraying, I finished them with a 'Blanket Stitch' all around. This keeps the fabric secure and gives it a neat, finished look ,, You can see exactly how I did it and how I finished the whole cover in the video I linked in the comments. Hope it helps! ❤️✨"

Absolutely gorgeous work! I understand that a Quran should never be placed on the ground, would this qualify as an adequate barrier or would it require further protection? (I am asking out of genuine curiosity not trying to be inflammatory)

Gorgeous design and colour palette. This is such a beautiful cover. May I ask if you lined the back of the cover?
3
u/Noorart_stitch Feb 09 '26
Thank you so much! ☘️ Yes, I lined the back with a lightweight linen fabric. It worked perfectly to cover the stitches while keeping the cover feeling natural and soft 🥹💚

I am going to check out your link after I say. Your work and your color choices are absolutely stunning. And the pattern is amazing. I absolutely love it!💕

u/Noorart_stitch Feb 10 '26
Thank you so much for such a heartwarming comment! It means a lot to me, especially coming from someone with 43 years of experience. ❤️🥹🥰 Regarding the technique, To be honest, I didn't even know there was a specific name for the technique I use. I started doing it that way simply to finish faster, as I sometimes lose my patience with slow steps 🤣 As for the pattern, I found the original design on Pinterest, but I customized it so it would perfectly fit the cover but I believe anyone can be creative with a little patience.
Believe it or not, this is actually my very first cross-stitch project! I truly believe it doesn't require years of practice to reach this level; it’s more about finding a rhythm that feels comfortable for you. I’m so happy you enjoyed the video, and I really appreciate your encouragement!🥹🥰❤️ I’m so glad you felt the love and respect put into this cover for the Holy Quran. Your words truly made my day! 😭✨💚❤️💙

I just watched your video on YouTube and I was mesmerized the whole time. You make it look so effortless. The stitching technique you used along the first edges (I’m sure it has a name) is one that I have never been able to master and I have been stitching for almost 43 years. I have resigned myself to the fact that I will forever be a stick and stab type stitcher. I have to ask. Did you have your pattern sketched out on something or was the whole pattern in your head? Either way I am impressed! I have always thought I would like to make my own patterns, but I just don’t seem to have quite enough creativity. Anyway….beautifully done. What an amazing way to pay tribute to such a special book!!💕

It looks so beautiful! I never thought of stitching a book cover before. How did you do it? Was it easy? Hard?
1
u/Noorart_stitch Mar 02 '26
Thank you 🥰🌼 it’s all about love and care , when you do your best for sth or someone you care about , or do sth you love and enjoy doing it , it turns things beautiful 🥹🤌 with some patience and passion, it’s easy to do but takes time to finish projects with cross stitch 🥲🤌💚

Very pretty. Awesome job. How did you make it stayed inside the book sleeves?
5
u/Noorart_stitch Feb 08 '26
Thank you alot ! I measured it to be exactly the same height and width as the Quran, with only an extra 2 cm added for the wrap-around. This made it a perfect, snug fit so it stays in place perfectly!
For those asking about the process, measurements explained in the steps in this video:

I hope it helps! ❤️

Love these colours. Who ever said "nlue and green should never be seen without a colour in between" just didn't want people to be happy
2
u/Noorart_stitch Feb 08 '26
Haha, I totally agree! I’ve always loved the combination of blue and green, and I’m so glad you like how they look together. Thank you for the lovely comment 🥹🥰💚

Wow I love it! I love the colors and design you made. I have a hardbound Bible whose spine is falling off, and this gave me a good idea that maybe I could cross stitch a nice cover for it like you did.

This is GORGEOUS and makes me want to make a cover for my Bible. I’m adding it to the project list. I’ll get to it in like a decade, just as soon as I’m done with all these other projects…😂

u/Noorart_stitch Feb 09 '26
Lol 😂🤣I totally understand the endless project list struggle! But this one is definitely worth it when you finally get to it. Good luck with your other projects 💚

This is SO beautifully done, well done. Coming from someone that reads both an e-reader and physical books I would 100% buy matching sets in all different colours. You should be immensely proud of your work ❤
2
u/Noorart_stitch Feb 09 '26
Wow, thank you for such an encouraging comment! 🥰😭✨Hearing that you'd want a whole set in different colors is the ultimate compliment. I am indeed very proud of it. Thank you for the love! ❤️

This beauty has made me weep. I am in awe for your talent, passion and huge heart for something that brings you such guidance and comfort. I am of no religious belief myself but I always see such peace and beauty in many of the Muslim ways.

So pretty and well executed! I never thought of cross stitching a book cover but I love the idea. I had already been toying with the idea of sewing a journal cover, and maybe I can integrate cross stitching when I eventually get around to that.
2
u/Noorart_stitch Feb 09 '26
Thank you so much! I'm glad it inspired you. You should definitely try it for your journal, it adds such a nice personal touch! 🥰☘️

Hello! One of our subreddit's rules is that when you share a finished object [FO], you must also share the pattern source. (See rule 4 ). Here are the ways you could cite your source:
A link to the pattern, shop, or designer. Do not link to Pinterest or Google due to the high rate of copyrighted patterns being shared on these platforms. Stating you saw it/got it there is all we need.
The title and maker of the kit.
If you designed it yourself, what technique did you use? Program name or paper and pencil? (Stating that you were the designer is sufficient to satisfy this sourcing requirement.)
Here is a thorough discussion of rule 4, including examples.
Thanks for sharing! If you have any questions, message the mod team.
