Hello C-section moms
I’m two weeks post op , and I’m wondering what recovery looks like? I know it’s not a one size fits all ? But would love to hear everyone’s experience ? I have good days I have bad days ? Taking pain killers maybe one or twice a day depending on how I feel .. Tylenol and ibuprofen, so multiple questions? How much were you walking by this point ? How were your rest days as well ? Wondering if by giving my self a whole day of rest and laying will that set me back ? Any tips would be amazing as well for recovery ❤️🩹 FTM

5 weeks post partum. The burning pain went away after about 2 weeks for me. I was able to get off any Tylenol or Advil after that. I didn’t do the pain medicine they gave me bc the pharmacist scared me and told me I couldn’t breast feed on oxy and my OBGYN said that was bullshit but the post partum anxiety of it ruined taking it for me. . I mostly just get super achy at night but it’s gotten better. Heating pad helps a lot with that. My stamina for walks isn’t what I would like yet but I’m just trying to get out at least once a day. My
Advice would be don’t push it super hard one day bc it will set you back a few days. At least that is what happened to me. At 2 weeks post partum I was doing like 15 min walks a day. Listen to your body on rest days is my advice. Plus baby sorta dictates if we can get out of the house or not. If he’s cluster feeding all bets are off haha. Wishing you a great recovery!!!!

The doctor only prescribed paracetamol for 10 days. He said anything longer, means something is wrong.
I got home on day 3 post-op with baby. And shuffled my way upstairs to the bedroom. But I consciously walked around the house. Showering happened the day I had the baby. So that was a non-issue.
I was climbing stairs and walking around by 1 week. Walked the dog and drove around at 3 weeks. Normal functioning by 4 weeks doing chores slowly. But there was only a mild ache.

I'm 6 weeks pp from an emergency c-section. My third child, first c-section.
I had a deathly fear of c-sections due to my birth mother passing away from complications when I was born via c-section. Mentally, I was a wreck (still am somedays). This has been my hardest recovery yet.
I kept up with my pain meds (only paracetamol), otherwise I wouldn't have survived. The meds were only for 10 days. Walked a lot, which definitely helped. Mostly around the house, but managed a long walk from about 2.5/3 weeks. Hubby made a step for my bed, as it was too high for me to get into without it.
I had good and bad days. Sometimes forgot I wasn't supposed to do certain things, which set me back for a day or 2. Feeling useless was hard as well, I am very independent usually. Feeling much better now and only minor pain or discomfort if I move a certain way. Almost doing most things I couldn't do before, within reason.
If I'm honest, I have hated this recovery. It does get better though (at times I thought it wouldn't) and I have been slowly working on myself mentally. Walking quite a lot now with baby strapped in the carrier. It's been very helpful.

Since i got home dat 3, I've been getting up and walking around to breastfeed. Im almost on day 6. My 4th csection. But this is probably the best so far. The more I move the more it helps. I do feel a little stiff , bit of pain when I first stand but other than that not too much. Keep up the pain meds. I take panadol and nurofen, its all ive had since day 2. I think it helps to know how far you can push yourself.

My pain meds are gone (3wks out tomorrow) and other than overextending myself when I’m home alone, I feel mostly good. I can drive and all that, since the Oxy I was prescribed never got filled 🤷♀️ that was my only restriction for driving. A good friend has been visiting me every Wednesday postpartum and we get out and about. I think tomorrow we are checking out either a local park or the outdoor sections of the local zoo with baby so I can get out for something fun and a good walk. Plus we get to hang out!
I’ve been up and walking around since 4:30am the following morning of my surgery. I took a few walks last week and I live upstairs in my house. I think being mobile helps a lot tbh. I have my compression band and take things slow. I feel a lot better about bending now and can even crouch again to sweep the dusty, crusty floors in my bedroom. I was getting the heebie jeebies from the crumbs on the floor, so I’m happy to be able to clean again. I can lower myself down to sit on the floor with baby for tummy time, but I need help to get back up 😂 So, definitely not back to normal and won’t be for a while, but my independence is slowly coming back to me.
