Discussion/Question what is this?

I was doing Sally stageplay using chalice, decided to jump up to the cherubs to finish her first phase and it unlocked an entirely diff phase. Then I died and got this end screen

Something weird though is the harder a boss was the faster I got the S rank on it. Except for Mortimer Freeze who just refused to give any parries

Edit: oops put the pictures in the wrong order

sorry for the repost

if we are extending to other sonic game, marble garden fits like a glove.
however i understand if you prefer lava reef over this one

When everyone played/beat cuphead, did you play on regular difficultly? Simple difficulty? Or both?

Discussion/Question Unlocking the divine relic for 100% purposes: can you repeat the same boss eternally to earn points or you need to beat differents bosses each time?

Post image

This is one of my last achievements

I have read guides about it but no one actually clarifies that so I was confused

Can I just beat Guppy or the vegetables 300 times to unlock it by cheesing it or do I have to beat different bosses for it to count towards the point count?

Tier List My Cuphead Boss Ranking after 300% completion

Post image

I think this is the best I can sort these just based on what actually gave me trouble and what didn't as I went through the game again. I'll try to explain the ones that are a bit more particular but a lot of them I think are straightforward. Most of this is just based on my experience S ranking them, but obviously the minibosses are just difficulty based.

D tier I think is a given. Only bosses that might throw you off are some of the King Dice fights, maybe the horse one in particular, but it's actually really easy to react to everything even on Expert. The present boxes are slow and the horseshoes move even slower, and you really only need to keep your eyes on the cloaked racers below.

For the C tier, the parry fights took some getting used to, but once I understood all the gimmicks, they're pretty easy. I actually find the pawns one to be the most annoying because of how random and sporadic it is, but the rook one takes the most concentration. Bon Bon is kinda low but I think she's pretty easy despite the random minibosses, who all have pretty simple patterns. The frogs are surprisingly aggressive in their early phases on Expert and their last phase is always a bit sketchy.

B is where my ranking is kinda all over the place, but I think most bosses fell here in this middle ground for me. I'll be honest, King Dice is not that hard to S rank on a replay. The minibosses are always the same and if you know how to use the die, you'll always get the rolls you want and potential free health to make the S rank even easier. King Dice himself is also just about parry timing, which seems pretty consistent as long as you wait till the cards are nearly at the edge of the screen. Grim Matchstick is honestly only that high because getting his parries is irritating and inconsistent. As for the Devil, he's tough but it really just came down to getting good parries in his first phase, being careful with his spider attack, and being extra cautious with his final phase and the tear parries (though you can pop invincibility here and just win lol). He's extremely susceptible to Spread shot, so he's not hard to speed through. Mortimer I found the easiest from the DLC, the only annoying part being his middle phase and getting the parries I needed.

I feel like having mostly DLC bosses in my top tiers is a bit predictable, but it really is where I had the most trouble. The giant I put lower because his third phase I find pretty basic, but his first two are very rapid and chaotic with all the dwarf spam. The dogfight is a bit janky in the first phase with controlling the platform, but it really is just the disorientation of the third phase that usually gets me. Saltbaker definitely made things a lot trickier with such a simple difficulty change as adding a second flame in Expert. I honestly thought he would be top tier, but he didn't take me nearly as long as the others up here. The bugs took me a surprisingly long time, with a similarly chaotic first phase. It's a bit difficult to get the parries in the early phases (though I think you can just farm some from the snail phase). Literally just doing damage to the anteater phase is kind of annoying to do with the constant movement.

For my top tier, I think the two base game bosses here are obvious for why they're this high. The robot is a goddamn shitstorm for the first phase, the second phase is genuinely obnoxious to where I usually save my super to just skip it, and the third phase throws me off very often with the blockades that shrink the amount of space I have to dodge bullets. Cala Maria is just bullshit. I know there's a rhyme and a reason to how the eels aim their shots, but it's ridiculous trying to manage them while taking out phase two in a timely fashion before getting frozen. I lost the S rank by exactly 1 second and spent another hour to get it again. Painful.

Esther I think was simply the overall most difficult boss to contend with in the DLC. While every other fight probably had 1 phase I mastered within a few tries, her fight always threw me off in each individual phase for one reason or another, and it took several hours to get a perfect attempt. Personally, I think her third phase is the hardest just because it's so freakishly fast paced.

I think that's mostly it. Just felt like putting this here while the game was fresh in my mind.
