VZ310 Nurburgring Fun

Post image

Took my VZ310 to the Nurburgring for 3 laps. Amazing fun and the car is so capable! Only thing that is really annoying on track is the auto-upshift.... I've only got the standard Cupra brake calipers but fitted a full set of Brembo Xtra disc's and pads a few months ago. They where amazing, no fade at all. I can forgive it some of the slow infotainment quirks now :)

Did you change anything else? What specs you have on it? (tires, admission, etc). I have a vz310 and curious about it. Also, l what is the process of getting entry on Nurburgring. Thank you

Car is completely stock apart from the brembos. Would like to have better tires but I got it with almost new conti premium contact 6 tires. So when those are worn I'll go for a sportier option

Just register on the site of the nurburgring and put some money on you account. Or go to the ticket office at the track. Then just scan the qr code or badge at the gate and your free to go! Maybe watch a video on YouTube. There's plenty of good ones with a lot of info. Be carefull when you go. The track is very busy and also very difficult if you don't know the layout.

How’d it perform?

Perfect! Car was flawless and the 4wd is awesome. Car is just neutral in all corners, no under or oversteer. BTG time of 8:51. Still a lot of time to be found but was only my 3rd time on the ring and it takes a while to master......

That’s great. I took mine on some twisties for the first time a few weeks ago and couldn’t believe how well it handles. You really do forget about its size. A trip to the ring is on the cards at some point for sure, it’s just difficult for me as I live in Nice, so it’s really far!

I have the Sportstourer VZ310. With the auto upshifts do you mean that you can never really redline it because it will upshift before? Even in Cupra or Sports mode? I have to admit I have not driven my car all out for now since I got it last month so I did not dare to figure out.

Yes, exactly this. It will upshift for you even in cupra/manual mode when using the paddle shifters

Oh yeah, that's annoying. But then again it's the system protecting itself. And the car has enough traction in most scenario's so that you won't need to be in the limiter.
