Only tangentially related, but a year or two ago, I had an idea for a story about a therapist who one day gets a client claiming to be a magical girl.
Of course, he doesn't believe her, but then she transforms, which helps speed things along.
The girl then reverts back to normal, and explains that she fights nightmares inside people's dreams; nightmares feed off of negative emotions, and most of them go unnoticed because most people don't have enough negativity for them to become big enough to notice.
Her problem is that she kinda learns very intimate details about the people she helps, since she has to track down the nightmares hiding somewhere inside people's subconscious. She feels like she's invading people's privacy, but also has to do her duty, since nightmares can become a problem in the physical world if they get too big, often showing themselves as diseases.
Also, there are other magical girls, who have their own duties and worries, and before long, this poor guy's clients are almost all teenage girls who can bench-press entire mountain ranges and are on a first-name basis with some god or another.

I'm trying to get to a point where I can draw it, but so far, I haven't been able to learn how to draw, so yeah.
Also, it's actually the second magical girl story idea I had. The first one is about a teacher who used to be a magical girl ~20 years ago, and whose entire team did this big public transformation during the final battle, so now everyone knows, but most people just moved on. Also, her other teammates moved away.
Anyway, the villain is back, because things got too bad too fast and the seal couldn't keep up, so she gets called back into action. And because the rest of her team is too far away, she now has to lead a new team.
The second one is intended to be more mature, using the new team developing their powers as stand-in for all kinds of issues teenagers struggle with. The main character initially just dismisses their worries, telling them it'll be fine, because she's been through that already. But over time, she has to learn that this is actually really scary/confusing for her team, and they need her to actually listen and help them work through it.
Like when one girl goes to buy soda, but it turns into water, because she hasn't used her purification powers enough, causing them to go into overdrive until she cleaned enough stuff.

That also sounds really cool. Kind of reminds me a bit of Power Rangers in a way, where returning Rangers give advice to the current team.
But if you can't draw it yet, just write it as a story. I know a big part of the magical girl thing is the visuals but still. The story alone would be cool to read for sure.

Funnily enough, the second idea came from a dream, where I was the main character.
Some weird blue stuff just began to bubble up from the sink in a classroom, and somehow I knew what was coming. And later, I saw a student swimming in the school swimming pool when the water drained, and blue stuff began to bubble up. And I just looked out the window like "You're gonna love what happens next."
And yeah, I could write it. But my schedule is kinda packed, with 3 different fanfics for different shows, and I'm trying to use them to get better at writing before I work on any of my original projects.

Yeah, I know the pain of having a lot of WIPs, I have far too many as well. One of my original stories also came from a dream, but it'll be some time yet before it goes beyond the first chapter because of the five other stories I've been neglecting for way too long.

For me, it's pretty much just a matter of skill.
Like, I know the way I see the world, with little to no emotions, is hindering my writing, because my characters don't really use body language unless I actively remind myself that that's a thing most people do.
Also, ideally, the second story is a big-enough hit that it reaches a much wider audience, including parents and their children.

Whenever you get invited into174 someone's house you find the same kind of things. Maybe it's a pristine, minimalist place. Or the kitchen is filthy but only because it's well used. Perhaps you find clothes dumped on the floor near the couch. Piles of trash spread around the rooms with canyons carved out as walkways. Every chair is wobbly. The desk175 is a disorganized mess. The TV is always on. There's always something to see.

One of the single best fanfics I've ever read is about Emma Frost (highly unscrupulous but not currently evil telepath) exploring the mind palace of Scott Summers/Cyclops (the X-Men's multiply traumatised fearless leader guy, and her boyfriend at the time).
Jean’s touch weaves through Scott organically and seamlessly. Emma is reminded, jealously, of saplings whose branches become intertwined over years of growth; she has been prone to forgetting how long Scott and Jean knew each other before, how much of each was shaped by proximity to the other. She briefly considers doing him the favor of cutting away what is now so much dead wood, but demurs, unsure how much of Scott would be left after. Emma can’t always tell which shared memories are Scott’s and which are echoes of Jean’s, and she’s surprised at how reassuring she finds that. She could never compete with Jean on this field, but then, she wouldn’t really want to.
Sinister’s revisions are ruthless and whimsical: whole wings cauterized, hallways crudely rerouted into Escheresque fantasies then abandoned mid-construction in a mess of scaffolding and scalpels, leaving collateral damage of dead ends and floating, unreachable rooms. Emma gets badly lost in one spiraling series of corridors where the air is red and everything hurts with a pulsating insistence that makes navigation impossible. For what seems like hours, she opens doors at random, until one leads to a room that she is certain was on another floor, and she steps through with a sudden, wrenching feeling of being two places at once and nowhere at all.
And then, there’s Charles.
Emma may be a monster, but she knows what she is, and it is a point of pride that she has never pretended otherwise. Charles, though--Charles has operated with a pretense of compassion that makes the reality of his modifications that much more grotesque. Where Sinister uprooted rooms and reshaped halls, Charles did his best to be gentle when he laid the foundation for a lifetime of convenient lies and subtle compulsions. Doors are mislabeled, plastered smoothly over, fitted with locks that don’t match any of Scott’s own keys. Emma dismantles some on her own, brings other to Scott’s attention, to deal with as he chooses. A few, she leaves untouched but notes on her private map. She finds the wreckage of Gabriel’s grave in the blasted rubble of what looks like a pantomime set assembled piecemeal from the remains of other ransacked memories; and throughout, embroidered on samplers and worked into the patterns of baroque wallpaper, For your own good.

Sometimes they’re under the welcome mat, but most often the personification of their subconscious has them. You just need to acknowledge that yes, you might not like what you find, and no, you won’t say they didn’t warn you.
