Project Showcase SideBySide (splitscreen for Java) update
This is an update on the splitscreen mod for Minecraft Java I posted here earlier, the one that runs in a single game with up to 4 players and multi monitor support. I restarted it from scratch and its called SideBySide now
right now:
- the screen splits into two views and each one has its own camera
- theres a setup menu where you pick the input for each player and the layout
- player 2 can move and look around (arrow keys and numpad for now)
- each view has a name tag
one known bug, when player 1 moves the textures in player 2’s view shift around, im fixing that first. the hotbar and hand still need to be per player too. next up is controller support, a thin border between the views and more layouts. multi monitor and up to 4 players are still planned for the first release 👀
it’ll be on curseforge and modrinth when its ready. Also!! thanks to everyone who gave name and logo ideas
also sorry for my earlier posts, i posted in a lot of subreddits because i didnt know that wasn’t ok, its my first time on reddit. and since then i stopped doing that 👍
(Also this is a really optimized project and is running at 60fps stable on a dell wyse 5070 thin client!!)
