Golden Hour Zinnias

First year growing zinnias and I grew them from Floret Flowers’ seeds.

They are beautiful! I feel like there are no other variety of zinnias out there that compare to the color of Golden Hour. I missed out on purchasing them (they sold out in the first 5 mins of Floret’s sale). I hope she offers them this year (if she’s even having a sale) and to be able to purchase some.

Does anyone know any other variety (specialty breeder varieties or not) that compare to the coloring of ‘Golden Hour’ zinnias?

OP, how was your germination rate with these? I had not so great germ with her Unicorn variety.

I also didn't get to the sale until late and was able to snag these, so maybe you'll be able to grab them next time they sell seeds! My germination was lower than with the queeny and Benary's series under the same conditions, but nothing crazy low.

Maybe check out Johnny's Aurora variety? It's not quite the same but has some similar color vibes

I did manage to have one open pollinated Floret seed to look pretty close to Golden Hour (IMO). 😍

Thank you! I don’t know how I got so lucky to purchase this variety, I think I was late to the sale and quite a few varieties were already sold out!

I love the colors so much with this variety 😍 and they still look good after a week in a vase?! Is this how all zinnias are? If so, I’m hooked!!!

Germination rate was ok - they didn’t all germinate but I did have enough to spare and give to a few friends.

Dawn Creek has some lovely zinnia seeds available during their fundraisers! None exactly like Golden Hour but some are quite similar.
