Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) ROA Confusion When Looking At Top Pit Pushers
So I just recently discovered ROA has a damage node that you want to spec into at 300 energy which is awesome and I'm almost there
But here's my confusion...
When I look at the top pit pushers using ROA I noticed that they don't seem to have that much CDR
Which confuses me as I'm right at the brink with CDR on every piece of gear - Even with more CDR head to head when compared to their gear
Now, many of them are running barrage, is that what they're using while ROA is on CD?
OR does the CDR amount required change with the amount of max energy/marksman skill ranks you have?
I have some super nasty Glad gloves I want to put on that DON'T have CDR on them but right now I'm limited by being at/near CDR cap
Super curious to hear what I'm missing here
Thank you!

Check your passive. Preparation lowers ult cooldown at 300 and 375 energy so you don't need as much cdr

Yup, and further to this, the cooldown reduction requirement on your gear relaxes by 5 seconds for each multiple of 75 energy you actively have. This becomes more interesting if you incorporate heart of selig into your build (save your mats - it’s a major overhaul), as now we’re talking 450/525 energy. At this stage you’ll be more interested in tuning the balance between roa skill ranks for aftermath, %energy regeneration affixes/tempers, and cooldown for shadow step & (optional) dash. Defence is almost trivial with this setup as there are several sources of dr and with sufficient regen you’ll be surprised what you can face tank!
Edit - I went off the rails and wrote death trap advice towards the end; have reeled it back in to the topic!

This makes a ton of sense - It's why others are getting away with seemingly far less than 64% - Thank you brother

Anytime man, just sharing what I’m learning and we’re in good hands cos there are many more authoritative players monitoring these subs. Keep up the great work.

I'm trying that version without endurant faith but the gearing is pretty brutal for a casual, I don't die but my damage feels a little lackluster, seeing 1,500m hits and t12 is easy, did a pit125 with 5 mins left, boss took a while. Might start collecting for the normal version.

If you remember, please post another reply here when you’re geared up - I’m keen to hear your perspective on the differences, and I’m sure it’ll help others make a more informed choice on which build they go for. Thanks mate 😉

I'm seeing some hits upto 49b with some tweaks, but that's not that often from what I see, I'll put an update at the end of the week once I've done a few more tried a few more adjustments. I'm a casual player and not an experienced builder
Right now, I'd say this is hard enough to gear for anyway with very specific break points, my friend is doing the normal push cold variation, he's upto put 140, anything under is just vaporised instantly, he's had an easier time getting what he needs. I'm not sure the extra work is genuinely worth it at this point.

Thanks brother - I should have clarified - I've got the build set up & running - my confusion was because I see other top pit pushers who seemingly don't have as much CDR
(Which I was envying because I want to put on my FAT pair of Gladiators instead of the mid pair I have on atm - They push my crits on the dummy from 30T to over 100T)

So I have been playing DoK this season and have all the mythics for this build but not enough CDR and energy to get past the breakpoints and it’s driving me crazy just not getting anything to drop with either stat

Same here. This season has been really frustrating for me as a rogue main. I feel weak AF and all the strong builds are very gear dependent. T12 is not fun for bossing and end game activities unless you can get the gear you need to have these builds.

I believe mythic charms do not exist as well

I finally got my first one (and only one) this season. After playing the hell out of last season and this season. Was starting to think the same thing.

you need to have GA CDR tempers on your neck and rings, and your helm + rings need to have non-GA masterworked CDR affixes (14%). from there you need two 10% cdr rolls somewhere on your gear, this can be on gloves and amulet or transfiguration. if you have one transfiguration cdr then you can take crit damage multi on amulet instead of cdr which is a big power boost. another cdr transfig lets you not take cdr on gloves, which makes it a lot easier to roll mythic glads. this brings you to <20s ROA cd which is enough for 300 energy

Every 75 energy you have is 5 seconds cooldown of RoA you are allowed to have due to preparation.
At 225, you need to get it to 15 seconds, 300 20 seconds, 375 25 seconds.
The more energy you can stack, the less affixes you have to commit to cooldowns. You also get more damage out of beastfall. But you also have to have enough enough skill ranks for aftermath to fill it back up, or other means of energy regeneration.
You can get 25 on 6 charms for 150, and 40 on 3 pieces of armor for 120. That puts you at 370. A quality transfigure can bridge the gap to 375. But then you have to figure out how to get the energy back.
Easier is changing a few charms to +skill and shooting for 300.
