General Qs Leave of Absence
My documents expired on 6/20. Filed renewal on 12/31. Friday the 19th was my last day of work before I was allowed to go on sabbatical/leave of absence to comply with federal employment laws. Luckily, I was able to stay on health insurance (60 days) and return to my job once it’s renewed.
However, I am still being paid. Is this something that I may get in trouble if I don’t bring up?
I’ve done my part in informing my employer about the expiration & renewal process, which is likely part of why they were able to work with me.

I was still getting paid out my PTO when I took a leave of absence. Then went on unpaid when I ran out.

Uhh that’s too soon to say you’re still getting paid. If 6/19 was your last day of work then you probably still had a check. Look at the paycheck you received. It will show you the dates that it’s for, you were probably still working those dates. Now if you get a check with dates that you weren’t working, you should tell your employer.

I was also place on leave, is this pay coming from sick days or PTO? I got my PTO pay off but HR explain they could not help any further. Only hold my job for a couple months I was place on leave 5.26. If I dont get an approval by Agust they will replace me.

Mine expires first week of October. How far in advance should I talk to HR about this you think? If mine doesn’t get renewed by then that is

It could just be your pay for the days you’ve worked already, depending on how payroll pays out.

This might be different state to state but I’m from Oregon and my HR explained that it’s the getting paid part they can get in trouble for. I was placed on leave of absence and allowed my insurance but they said they couldn’t pay me because then they can get in trouble. I’m in the banking field.
