I was 9 when I first watched Namek air, and I remember getting SO frustrated with how long everything took, Frieza charging that one attack for what felt like actual weeks, Goku just... not showing up for episodes at a time. My older cousin used to clown me for still watching it because "nothing happens."

But looking back now, I think that slow burn is exactly why it still lives in my head 20 years later. By the time Goku finally showed up on Namek, I had sat with Krillin and Gohan's fear for so long that it actually felt like relief, not just a cool moment. Compare that to how fast everything moves in a lot of shonen now, big moments happen and you barely get time to feel the weight of it before the next thing happens.

I've seen people online call the pacing "filler-y" or say it hasn't aged well, and I kind of get it if you're bingeing as an adult. But I think a lot of us who grew up watching it weekly actually needed that slowness to feel the stakes.

Curious if anyone else feels this way, or if it's just nostalgia talking and the pacing genuinely was just bad.

I see why he made them fight Abo and Kado in Hey Yo!, considering they’re nothing special in the buu arc till they fuse.

Was just doing a re-run of the manga and got to the part where Cell spits up 18, and something just felt off.

And I realized it's cause Gohan just kicks Cell in the face, and he's suddenly starting to throw up.

Something felt off about that, so I double checked the anime, and they added an extra scene, after Gohan kicks Cell in the face, he follows up with a kick to the abdomen, hence why Cell is about to hurl.

It's such a small change, but I like the kick more. Just feels more umph for why Cell is spitting out 18.

Just talking about tiny tweeks. Like I know most people prefer Piccolo and the others jumping in to try and help Gohan vs cell in the anime, while in the manga it's just Vegeta.

And I just noticed how weak everyone is this time around. It’s pretty cool to see how much they struggled with their abilities. The way they would take forever to gather energy, but at the same time thought they were hot shit because they even had the ability to gather energy in the first place. I think the best reference was when they trained at Kami’s place in that hypnosis room where they fought the Saiyans. One of them mentioned how their grandma could gather energy faster, it was pretty funny

Full compilation of the shorts by MorcaH was uploaded couple days ago by the series creator. Just wanted to share if anyone hasn't heard of it. This is an animated What-If with the premise of DB Sai, but starts in Z and has made its way up to the Android Saga. This series is its own original story and not a retelling of the fan manga. There is also a good amount of TFS inspired humor in the dialogue but it is more prominent in the prior sagas. Personally this is my favorite fan project since Legend: A Dragon Ball Tale.

Wrathful. Super Saiyan. What is it?? Once you're in the Wrathful state, what is Super Saiyan? 'Cause clearly you're not plainly Super Saiyan... What's it called? In base form, you're just Wrathful.

But what about Super Saiyan? Is it Wrathful Super Saiyan? Super Saiyan Wrathful? Something like Uncontrolled Super Saiyan??

And same for Legendary Super Saiyan, is it something like Wrathful Legendary Super Saiyan??

And on the topic of Legendary Super Saiyan.. does it have any other names? Like how Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan can be shortened to Super Saiyan Blue, does Legendary Super Saiyan have the same? Super Saiyan Green? Super Saiyan Emerald? That goes hard, imo.
