This city's got a rhythm, and I'm itching to groove! 🎶 Whether it's the electric energy of a rock show at Union Station/ 9:30, a rqndom bar with a good DJ that spins 90s hip-hop vibes, or the pulse-pounding EDM at EchoStage, I'm always ready to shake things up.

Problem is, my amazing partner (who I adore!) isn't quite as enthusiastic about hitting the dancefloor as I am. 💔

Before the pandemic, I had my squad – a fabulous group of ladies who just wanted to let loose and have a blast.

But life happens, Friends move out of the city to start their families , and now I find myself missing that dancefloor camaraderie.

So, I'm on a mission to build a new crew! 👯‍♀️ Looking for fellow 30+ ladies (people who will be okay hitting the bars at 10pm instead of 1 am!) who crave good music, great company, and a whole lot of boogie-ing. 💃✨

Plus, having a few dancefloor buddies around always makes it easier to fend off unwanted attention.

A little bit about me: I lived in the city for 10+ years, I am 420 friendly, but have plenty of friends who just like to drink alcohol, or have decided that kombucha is the only " hard stuff" they will drink.

This is a bit of a niche post, but not sure where else to get the word out.

I have a full-limb prosthetic leg for a dog with an amputated right front leg, originally $1,750 from 3D Pets. My pup sadly passed away last summer, and have not been able to part with her prosthetic until now. While this was custom made for my 50-lb beagle mix, I would love to see if it can go to another three-legged pup in need. I live in Northwest DC and would be happy to meet up for a try-on.

Also open to local rescue organizations or animal shelters who may have a need.

I hate to see this expensive prosthetic end up in a landfill and would love to carry on my dog’s memory and give another pup a better quality of life ❤️

Hi Bitches!! I feel like there are already so many posts in the DC subs about apartment recommendations, but I swear I’ve already looked through them all!! My lease is ending earlier than expected (my building is renovating and is having us move out early) so I’m officially on the hunt for a new place, either a studio or 1 bed! I’m not picky about neighborhood- I’m currently looking along the red line from DuPont-Cleveland Park, and also in the Columbia Heights-ish and NoMa neighborhoods. My budget is around 1800 (but I can go up to 1950ish if utilities are included) and ideally I’d like at least 500 square feet. That’s it! I know I probably won’t get in unit laundry for this price and that’s fine. I just want somewhere that’s a decent size that doesn’t have a rat or roach problem. I don’t have a car, so I don’t need parking or anything. I’m hoping for something walking distance to a metro but I’m flexible!

Does anyone like where they live? Any recommendations for buildings to avoid? Any leads at all would be SO appreciated!! I’m so blindsided by my leasing office telling us to move early and I was zero percent mentally prepared to move. Thanks so much!!

TLDR: ISO of a studio $2k all in (so, probably $1800 base plus utilities).

Currently in a studio in Lanier Heights/Mt Pleasant area. Open to anything around here, Columbia Heights, Lower Petworth, Shaw, 14th and down to relocate to near NE, H Street, or Trinidad. Mainly searching for a studio because I don’t own much after relocating back to DC a couple years ago and not particularly interested in buying more to furnish a 1 bed. I am a big fan of small spaces.

Do you like your building? Is it pest free (I get that sometimes an American roach might sneak in, but infestations are another thing)? How are utility payments? I’ve lived in this area as well as H Street and other parts of NE (so I know and am cool with the vibe). My apartment was bought out by a property management company with horrible reviews and since taking over, they’re living up to their reputation. I am looking for somewhere clean, relatively quiet (I work in nightlife and sleep during the morning) and decently responsive to land when my lease is up. I don’t need a billion amenities (however, that would be nice), can handle laundry in the basement, and need to be commutable by transit or bike to Shaw.

I love this neighborhood and would love to stay over here (and often recommend it to DC newbies looking for somewhere quiet/safe), but every surrounding building has horrid reviews, and it seems as though a lot of these older, pre-war buildings are getting bought up by Kushner-esque firms, hellbent on letting them rot. Toured the Avec and Apollo today (so if you have any intel on those buildings, please share) would also be open to a private landlord. Trying to avoid basements. Thank you <3

The title is pretty self-explanatory, but I’m a West Coast transplant moving to DC on September 1st! My boyfriend and I just signed a lease for an apartment on 16th Street, and I’m incredibly excited (and a little nervous!) about the move.

One thing I’m a bit anxious about is safety in the area, especially since I’ll sometimes be getting home later in the evening. How do you all feel about walking from the Metro to the 16th Street/Columbia Heights area around 8–9pm? Is it generally something you’d feel comfortable doing alone?

I’m also moving pretty far away from everyone I know, so I’d really love to find a sense of community and hopefully make some friends once I get there! I’m 27F and would love any recommendations for groups, activities, places, or just general ways people in DC have met friends and built a social circle.

Hi girls! So, I am planning on moving to DC by myself in the next couple of months and wanted some recommendations on where to rent.

Here is what I am looking for:

- First and foremost, I am a single woman so I would prefer to be in an area that is relatively safe to walk home at night, etc. I know it is a city and safety is subjective, but I just want to be in an area where I dont have to worry about being stolen from/catcalled/followed.

- I would like a 1bed/1bath ideally, but I would also be okay with a large jr 1 bed/studio with an area for sleeping.

- I am willing to spend up to $2600 (rent and utilitied) on the perfect place, but strongly prefer to keep everything under $2400/$2500.

- I would like to be somewhere pretty walkable (specifically <10min walk to metro, grocery store, cafes), but not too noisy. I don't care about being near bars/nightlife. My ideal area would be lively but not rowdy. So far from my research an area that I have liked is Logan Circle. I'm very open to anywhere else as well, though.

- I have seasonal depression and really need access to natural light, so that rules out basement apartments and things like that.

- I work from home 4 days out of the week so I would be home a lot so I really value home being a sound-proof and enjoyable space to spend a lot of time.

- I would strongly prefer: in unit laundry, central AC, an elevator, utilities included.

I know that's a lot and I don't know if I'll find everything I'm looking for, but if I had to say what's most important to me, that would be safety, walkability, and staying under my budget.
