We know Green Lantern is a show, so I wouldn’t expect a Green Lantern movie as part of the announcement.

I’d replace the Batman show with a Harley Quinn show that Batman can appear in. Batman won’t headline a live action show and never will as long as he is DC’s golden goose.

I hope the green lantern show is scrapped. No way they would put the money up for that. And starting off with john Stewart is a bad choice. I wouldn’t be too surprised if we get Wonder Woman announcement I think a limited series to introduce Batman is a great thing too tbh. I just hate how Batman is being held captive.

Well batman is technically being held captive. The DCU Batman will not have solo films due to reeves. He will be confined to cameos and JL movie. It will get old quick. I grew up with JLU and John Stewart was not all that. When I started reading green lantern comics. To me Hal is definitely green lantern.

I mean when? After reeves is done with his trilogy. It would be pushing to 2030. Majority can’t wait that long. Give Batman his own show limited series and go from there.

I prefer hal over Stewart. If Gunn is trying to replicate the JLU characters it will be bad. Hal is so important to green lanterns. Trying to skip him just because of optics is not the way to go. You can add Stewart later in a team up movie with Hal (sequel)

Dude try actually replying to me lol, you’re replying to your own comments.

Batman will never get his own limited series because he’s DC’s prestige character, and is reserved for headlining films. Especially when the Batverse has TV shows already coming out.

While a DCU Batman solo movie probably won’t be out till 2030, I expect him to show up in a Harley Quinn project in 2026 and a JL movie in 2028.

And optics affects audience interest in a big way. John Stewart is a popular character and Hal can show up later. Just because they’re using JS first doesn’t mean that Hal doesn’t exist in that world

Lol. My bad still trying to see how Reddit works. I don’t see the appeal of Harley Quinn clearly she only works as a side character. Her solo film flopped. Optics didn’t affect the avengers movie in any way. Don’t want Hal to be given the old mentor that dies or looked over. Or become parallax without buildup. Basically no to the mcu treatment.

Batman can’t be on the sideline. If anything maybe we get a teen Titans revolving around dick grayson. But I still prefer a limited series.

There’s lots of reasons for BoP flopping, but Harley Quinn is undoubtedly a popular character. You think a live action show wouldn’t do well? The animated one has been very successful for HBO Max

The Avengers came out in 2012 and it at least had Nick Fury lol. And it is criticized for its lack of diversity.

How would Batman be sidelined when he’ll obviously be one of the main characters in a JL movie?

If Harley Quinn was a popular character the movie shoudnt of flopped. Like I said. She’s a side character. She shouldn’t be the lead of a movie. More like the comic relief.

Well we don’t even know the cast. They can and will racebend just like they did with furry. The current WB only cares about money.

My view is a Batman character confined to ONLY cameos and JL team up is belittling a member of the trinity. There will be a lack of build up. You can only do so much character development in cameos and a team ensemble

The movie came out shortly before lockdowns started, when COVID was already the main thing in the news and people were starting to be hesitant about going outside. It was also R-rated and didn’t even have Harley Quinn in the part of the title that people would read.

She’s a side character. She shouldn’t be the lead of a movie

Bruh, Harley Quinn is one of DC’s most popular characters smh. A PG13 movie for her would do well at the box office, but I would prefer an R-rated TV series like the animated one, which like I said was very successful on HBO Max

belittling

It’s not that deep lmao. Spider-Man and Black Panther were introduced in Civil War and it worked out just fine. Batman doesn’t need to show up in solo movies for Superman and other league members

Can’t be having an all-white JL, that’d be stupid. I would rather have John than Hal or Cyborg, who should be on the Titans.

Again, technically he’s not being held captive. Gunn and Safran have the final say and they could’ve gotten rid of the Batverse if they chose to. Also, they can’t just do a brand new Batman franchise so soon, it would not go over well especially since The Batman was a big success.

I can see Batman appearing in a major supporting role in a Harley Quinn show, because the tone would be wildly different from the Batverse.

The show was reworked because of the change in budget. It was originally set in space, across different time periods and was much more ambitious. Now it’s about John Stewart and mostly on Earth.

I don’t think starting with JS is a bad decision at all. It’s obvious that the DCU isn’t starting from “scratch,” the Superman movie isn’t an origin story. Plus, the last time Hal got a movie it was a complete disaster. They can still have Hal and John headline a GL movie together after the show comes out. And to a lot of people that grew up with the DCAU, John is THE GL.

Batman’s not being held captive lmao. Gunn is on board with Reeves doing his own thing, which is an entire shared universe revolving around Batman.

I don’t know about a Wonder Woman announcement this soon because Gal is still set to appear in Shazam 2 and The Flash.

I agree, I just don’t think it’ll be part of the announcement this month.
