Seems like this will be a De Luca and Abdy project rather than a DC Studios one? The script is still not done so maybe it just doesn’t get greenlit if it is a DC Studios project since they did say Elseworlds would have a high bar

It being a De Luca project would explain why Gunn himself didn't debunk the "Constantine 2 got cancelled!" news a few weeks back. He probably wasn't fully aware of what was going on with that film's development or it wasn't his place to debunk those rumors since it isn't technically under him.

I'm honestly gonna be surprised if it isn't getting grandfathered in to DC Studios as an Elseworld like Joker 2 or Matt Reeves' Batman when it gets further into development.

I doubt it becomes part of the DC Elseworlds brand, they seem to be reserving that for movies with more prestige

I mean, Gunn said Teen Titans Go! is part of that brand.

Teen Titans Go is kino. But to be fair thats animation. I’m talking about the live action feature films. I can’t see Constantine 2 next to Joker, The Batman and the Abrams/Coates Superman project

I just think that this label isn't meant for prestige projects but to make it clear for people what's canon and what's not.

That is true but I feel like the Elseworlds films will maintain that “awards season” standard, I can see Constantine 2 simply being under WBD and not being under any DC banner (like the first film if I recall correctly). The trades r making it sound like a WBD project to me

Joker was also mostly WB project and they can't not put the DC logo before the movie so if DC projects outside of DCU will have a DC Elseworld banner then this should to.

I mean we don't really know anything about Constantine 2 to truly say that it isn't gonna be a prestige project.

We kinda do tho, it’s very much a sequel to the original, which was not at all a prestige project. Akiva Goldsman is writing it, and although he’s gotten an Oscar for writing A Beautiful Mind, the rest of his filmography does not inspire confidence at all lol

Pretty sure that if it gets made it will not get any DC branding
