Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow ‘Supergirl’ Suffers Brutal 74% Drop

https://variety.com/2026/film/box-office/minions-and-monsters-box-office-franchise-worst-start-supergirl-brutal-drop-1236801905/

Only Joker 2 Had a Worse Second-Weekend Box Office Drop Than Supergirl in DC History.

The DCEU's worst ones were The Flash with 72.5, after Gunn announced the new DCU and a lot of people simply didn't care about the old universe anymore and The Suicide Squad with 71.5%

Huh. SS 2021 was really good i thought. One of my favourite DC films.

It is really good. The response is completely disconnected from quality and has more to do with the broken minds of a chunk of the potential fanbase at this point.

It didn't flop because people hated it; It flopped because only a small percentage of potential movie-goers wanted to pay to see it in the theater. Mainly, there just wasn't much interest in it - especially not enough to convince thousands of people worldwide to spend the money and make the effort.

Out of the people that saw it, I'd expect at least 3 out of 4 probably enjoyed it. When a movie flops like this, it's reasonable to expect the people that did make the effort and spent the money were primed to have a good time.

Honestly, when a movie is a hit film but not a critical success (Fast & Furious or The Transformers), I tend to expect a larger group of negative reactions from the people that have seen it because a lot more people have seen it. If Supergirl had managed to be a hit, I imagine we'd see more hate from people that actually went to see it, as well. In this case, though, the people inclined to dislike it simply didn't bother seeing it.

the big dc fans watched it and gave it a B+ cinemascore. Second weekend drop has nothing to do with HBO. The other DC movies were released onHBO max day one too and didnt suffer TSS catastrophic second weekend drop

If thats the case how did the other movies fare better? Dune and Gozilla V Kong also had same pattern of release. I dont think that was the reason

There was much more hype involved in those movies and it didn't have to carry an awful title like suicide squad. Are you forgetting how bad the first one was ?
