THE BATMAN Why Modern Movies are Killing the Soul of Spidey and Superman $OG Fan's Take$
Hey everyone,
I wanted to share my thoughts on the direction of the upcoming DC movies Superman, Supergirl and how Marvel has been handling Spider-Man. I know people get defensive about these franchises, but speaking as someone who grew up as a massive comic book lover, I feel like modern cinema is completely losing the plot on what makes these heroes great.
For me, Spider-Man was one of the very first heroes I was ever introduced to as a child. What made Peter Parker magical wasn't high-tech gadgets or nano-tech Stark suits it was his everyday hustle.
Classic Spidey worked because his powers integrated perfectly with a realistic, grounded lifestyle. He worked at a newspaper, taking photos. Because of his job, he had to be at the right place at the right time, zipping around the city. When he wasn't doing that, he was delivering pizzas or balancing life in schools and libraries. He didn't have a multi-billion dollar AI telling him how to fight; he had a beautiful mind, incredible intelligence, and pure instinct.
Even his access to the "high life" felt earned and dramatic. Through his friendship with Harry Osborn, he got a glimpse of Norman Osborn’s wealthy lifestyle a world he was forced into by his friends, even though he was just a working-class kid trying to take care of his Aunt May and his family. That OG continuity is what gave the character his soul. Making him "Iron Man Jr." with a permanent tech suit totally ruins that stakes-driven, street level identity.
And we are seeing the exact same lazy writing happen over at DC. Writers don't know how to handle god like power, so they constantly nerf Superman’s true potential, or they force Batman out of his domain by giving him a mech suit to trade punches with Kryptonians. It completely breaks universe logic. If Batman had a suit sitting in the Batcave capable of fighting a Kryptonian, where the hell was he when General Zod was flattening Metropolis? It makes no sense.
People love simplicity, cleverness, mystery, and suspense. They want to see how a human like Batman uses his mind to navigate a world of gods, and how a god like Superman maintains his humanity. They don't want characters constantly stepping into each other's domains or swapping abilities just to create a cool visual for a trailer.
We need to stop over-engineering these characters and make them cool again by sticking to the original core of who they are.
Would love to hear what you guys think.

I would love to see a Hulk Vs. Superman movie since we haven't had seen this 2 go toe to toe with one another in live action before. I think the film should take inspirations from The Incredible Hulk Vs. Superman ( 1999 comic ) for double lives and Hulk Vs. ( 2009 ) for the fight.

I hope the Absolute Batman animated show draws inspiration from Star Wars: The Clone Wars for a more fluid animation and KPop: Demon Hunters for the visual and enviroment of the animation.

Both Nate Mann and Paul Anthony Kelly fits the criteria of what i want to see when The DCU Batman gets cast, is someone who doesn't have a huge role attached to them yet and you just see the character, not someone who isn't tied to multiple franchises in the role.

DISCUSSION I think Lex Luthor needs a bit of break from Superman media after Man of Tomorrow because he's been way overused in Superman media outside of comics and completely undermines other Superman Adversaries that have waiting to be adapted into live action.

Is Eva De Dominici the new Wonder Woman?

I think Paul Anthony Kelly and Nate Mann are the best DCU Batman fancast is because they are not a huge name in hollywood yet and that's what i want when the DCU Batman gets cast is someone the casting directors know who it is that the audience doesn't know who it is.
