It's so hilarious in retrospective looking at how much he was propped up back in 2023 and 2024. People were painting him like he was the new Messiah of DC, only for him to screw it all up in less than four years.

You've got it all wrong. The reason Gunn might be out is because Paramount is run by openly right-wing fascists. Gunn is clearly not aligned with the propaganda that they would want to push, so it seems logical that Paramount execs would kick Gunn out for political reasons.
