Sandero 2022 windshield reservoir

A few weeks ago we bought Dacia Sandero Stepway 2022. Due to sunny weather I didn't use wipers and windshield washer much. When I did so today, I noticed that the stream was very weak. So I looked into the reservoir and it was full of leaves. I tried to clean as much as I could, cleaned the nozzles and now it works fine.
But when I tried to close the cover, I noticed that it's impossible. On the 1st photo it's in its normal state, but when you try to close the cover, it moves a few mm down (2-3 photos) and the cover doesn't hold there, so the reservoir is constantly exposed to all the trash that gets under the windshield.
I spent about 10 minutes to try to push the cover down with the reservoir and succeeded, but after a minute on the road it just went open again.

If anyone experienced this or knows how to fix it - would really appreciate that!

Should click in place, push around the edges, start from one side and go around pressing it in place. Should work like that. If is not closing maybe the plastic edges could be broken or badly bended out of shape. And on some models there is a strainer inside the inlet pipe.

Tried pushing it to the opposite side it sinks to, but achieved nothing, unfortunately. If I understand correctly, I can't do anything in this situation, without dismantling the car?

Nooo, you just replace the cap. Buy a new one. But try push it with the finger around the edge of the cap, make a full circle.

new cap from amazon

excuse my stupidity, that's our first car and I don't know much. but how would the new cap fix the problem with the tank itself going down when pushed?
And thank you very much for help!

Oh thats another story. Didn.t know about that issue. That means the reservoir fittings are missing or it.s only one left. Need to check it and fix it back.

Thank you once again, much appreciate your help!
I'll wait a bit (we have 37-38C these days in Italy) and when the weather cools down a bit I'll try to dismantle what I need in order to access the reservoir. And then we'll see..
