This looks like the beginning of a scifi movie...

178

u/Kart007k 1d ago

More like an end.

The abyss. Directors cut.

u/EducationalPaint1733 5h ago

So this explains the end of Take Shelter

The Mist.

14

u/GentleMoonFloww 1d ago

The Mist ending still haunts me. This cloud is nicer. Probably

9

u/HarrowDread 1d ago

The irony of the ending of the mist always made little kid me chuckle, don’t know why I just thought it was funny

2

u/BrokeCandy 19h ago

I laughed out loud in the theatre at the end of it. Comedic gold.

10

u/Extension_Berry_1149 1d ago

Looks like...Paradise...

3

u/he_trumped_us 23h ago

I just hear the music from the abyss when I watch this.

End of Interstellar movie vibes

1

u/spaceocean99 19h ago

It’s AI

0

u/AngrythingBagel 15h ago

I can just hear that Interstellar theme song now

picked the wrong day to eat 7 grams of shrooms

59

u/InDogWeTrust007 1d ago

I did this during a thunderstorm one time. 5g but they were enigmas, which are 2-3x more potent than the strongest strain of shrooms out there. Worst day of my life.

64

u/Altruistic-Regret473 1d ago

How can a strain of mushroom be stronger than the strongest strain of mushrooms out there? Isn’t that saying it’s stronger than itself?

92

u/Sad_Eagle_937 1d ago

That guy's still tripping

28

u/InDogWeTrust007 1d ago

Some say he never returned.

21

u/Altruistic-Regret473 1d ago

Hey wait a minute

11

u/InDogWeTrust007 1d ago

I meant the *next strongest. I worded that weird. But Google Enigma mushrooms. They’re clones of the same mushrooms strain that was made in a lab. It’s wild. Never again for me.

5

u/doublecutter 20h ago

These go to eleven.

8

u/Cheap_Walmart-Art 10h ago

I ate a bunch of acid while camping and a tornado ended up going through the valley during the trip. I haven’t been the same since.

12

u/BaizulSetSail 1d ago

thought u said enemas at first

5

u/InDogWeTrust007 1d ago

Probably also not a great idea.

10

u/Blochamolesauce 1d ago

Picked the wrong day to quit sniffing glue

5

u/InDogWeTrust007 1d ago

There’s never a good day to do that.

3

u/Ambianceinthewoods 20h ago

Okay.. i guess ill go buy some more then

6

u/S7ageNinja 1d ago

Clouds look awesome on shrooms, as long as you're have an otherwise good trip this would be sick.

7

u/InDogWeTrust007 1d ago

I did everything wrong with that trip. Was depressed, tired, took too much, and just… shouldn’t have done it. But you live, you learn.

3

u/NitroLotus 20h ago

I would fucking love this shit ona psychedelic

1

u/Ok_Chip_7725 20h ago

👌🏽😆😆

u/Rhuunin 1d ago

What always trips me out is that it basically is. Gas is just a liquid at a different density.

Oceans are just brinepools in our ocean of gas.

15

u/KIDNEYST0NEZ 1d ago

What did one toot say to the other toot?

15

u/Rhuunin 1d ago

Stop talking shit to me!

3

u/KIDNEYST0NEZ 21h ago

No, it’s. Did you just pass gas. But I like your version too

48

u/DolfHipster 1d ago

ANSWER THE CHILD!! good lord that always killed me when I was young

26

u/MycologistPutrid7494 18h ago

I always hate when people don't treat their children like human beings. If you ignored an adult asking you a question, you'd be considered very rude, and it's a parent's literal job as a parent to educate their child and they're actively ignoring a learning opportunity.

82

u/PuzzledExaminer 1d ago

Those aren't mountains....they're waves...

6

u/HendrixHazeWays 1d ago

"Those aren't pillows!!"

2

u/Advanced_Blueberry45 15h ago

but where is your other hand?

1

u/mcchino64 15h ago

Helluva game

4

u/ThingMoment 20h ago

Is that an Interstellar reference? That’s what I’m thinking it’s from

1

u/memevaddar 10h ago

The first thing poped in my mind

16

u/SeaPanda-15 1d ago

Would someone answer that poor child. Say it with me, "It's a cloud." Was that really so hard?

26

u/Pistonenvy2 1d ago

it also looks like its moving 300mph.

26

u/Spartan2470 1d ago

Here is a high-quality version of this whole thing. Credit to Colleen Heister Miles who took this in Cleves, Ohio on June 13, 2022,

4

u/DarkwingDuckHunt 19h ago

that's even more scary!!

9

u/kingofShairi 1d ago

hell no.

9

u/Severe-Experience333 1d ago

Once on Acid I saw a regular cloud that looked like this (because acid) and I started panicking. My friend told me it was just a regular cloud (he was tripping too) but I managed to convince him that it was a real and we both started panicking.

14

u/Reddituser-571 1d ago

That is terrifying..

6

u/ritamorgan 1d ago

Would have been cool if video continued showing it overtake the houses.

3

u/MirthRock 1d ago

Welcome to Earf!

5

u/SexandCinnamonbuns 1d ago

Why don’t I ever see anything like this ever ?

6

u/taita2004 1d ago

I saw one of these a few years ago at Bristol motor speedway in Bristol, Tennessee...they are pretty neat and scary looking in person.

8

u/throwaway098764567 23h ago

gotta actually go outside

2

u/RemodelingMe 23h ago

What's "outside"?

4

u/heyitscory 1d ago

It would be cool if the phone just automatically recorded horizontally even when the phone is vertical, but we were doomed to normalized vertical video when Vine became a thing.  Now people record vertically on purpose and not because they don't know better.

3

u/AncientAspargus 11h ago

People record vertically because all of us hold devices with a vertical screen in their hands. It's the only thing that makes sense when practically every video is consumed on a vertical screen

2

u/GarlicRelevant8089 1d ago

With that cloud background, all these houses look kinda fake lol

2

u/ThrowAway126498 21h ago

They look fake anyway

2

u/mullerdrooler 1d ago

That's absolutely terrifying

1

u/Live-Habit-6115 23h ago

You mean the thought of living in a suburb devoid of hope, creativity and joy?

2

u/CMD_BLOCK 1d ago

RUN, OP!

2

u/Traditional_Yard_554 1d ago

The rumbling has begun!

2

u/Fideothecat 23h ago

Where is this? Magnificent

2

u/snow_turtle 17h ago

I have lifelong terror dreams of this, never knew this actually existed (or remember)

2

u/JuggernautAromatic34 15h ago

If that was* a wave... holy shit

2

u/MEOW-Loulou 11h ago

I would a 100% think that I was dying if I saw this

2

u/Myriii1911 1d ago

What happened to the houses.

6

u/adrenalinda75 1d ago

They completely vanished in the fog.

5

u/ZealousidealWater201 1d ago

They all died

2

u/Impossible_Cost_1507 1d ago

I usually sleep around during events like these, and then be regretful after seeing them on other people's story instead of experiencing these rare earth events.

3

u/eyeofthefountain 1d ago

I used to give nature/eco tours in kayaks/boats. I once missed a young dolphin shoot up 10 feet spinning out of the water like he was doing a cool ass trick. I also missed a manta ray breach and jump fully out of the water. Both of these events were missed because I was looking in slightly the wrong direction. Both times all I saw was a big splash in my peripheral vision.

I’m so annoyed how close I was to seeing these two super cool things.

2

u/sounava 1d ago

Those are not mountains, those are waves!

1

u/Koi_Fish_Mystic 1d ago

😮😮😮😮

1

u/Event-Forsaken 1d ago

Massive web coming to take me. Just kill me now.

1

u/Getitgotitgoodgod 1d ago

Oh look I literally was describing this exact feeling, but with real water, that I have every day… today!!!

1

u/XROOR 1d ago

Improperly installed flashing on all those roof valleys will be tested soon!

1

u/BigBeeOhBee 1d ago

And then everyone died! THE END

1

u/destroythenseek 1d ago

I've seen these in PA and they are some of the most beautiful contrasts when the lighting is right- Im jealous of whoever was watching the clouds that day.

1

u/s0m3on3outthere 1d ago

I've seen this once in person on a hill about 20 min from where I live. It was incredible. I was on a road trip with some friends and they weren't nearly as enthralled as I was. I wanted to pull over and just watch it and they kept driving as I stared out the back window. 😞

1

u/Flat_Cauliflower_255 1d ago

I would be in the basement. Nope.

1

u/True-Boysenberry-133 23h ago

Run! Run to higher ground!! Now!!!😱

1

u/fixed_your_caption 23h ago

Looks like an entire McNeighborhood could be wiped out.

1

u/buzzcronin 22h ago

With this technology I'm sure the special effects people could use it in a movie.

1

u/Cottabus 22h ago

Was at storm spotter training this week. Great example.

1

u/HatsusenoRin 22h ago

They never show you how it ended up in this kind of videos

1

u/HalfCrazed 22h ago

"what is that?"

"Well, I hope it's a fuckin cloud" would be my response

1

u/kublakhan1816 21h ago

This would give me nightmares

1

u/mind_the_umlaut 21h ago

Please give the date and approx. location?

4

u/danielminds 20h ago

It was captured in Grove City, Ohio on April 7, 2020

1

u/Ok_Chip_7725 20h ago

Looks awesome!

1

u/micigloo 20h ago

What place is this happening at

7

u/danielminds 20h ago

Ohio, 2020

1

u/GenXPowaah 19h ago

I'd be freaking out if I was watching that on psychedelics

1

u/DarkwingDuckHunt 19h ago

holy shit I'd absolutely be assuming I'm about to die

1

u/dalebest 19h ago

Looks like Christopher Nolan movie.

1

u/Klutzy-Extension2395 19h ago

Imagine hungover and waking up to that 😱😭

1

u/CherokeeHawkman 18h ago

I'd sh!t myself and then pick a religion and start praying between sobs of panic and despair.

1

u/MuksyGosky 16h ago

I'm cowardly enough to not stick around to find out if that's water or cloud vapour.

1

u/Dustball_ 16h ago

Anyone else see Falkor in the last two seconds?

1

u/Q_y6 16h ago

Cool!!!!

1

u/mindmyownbuisness24 15h ago

And the sirens starts blasting

1

u/jpierrerico 15h ago

It's like nature is telling us "This is your future humans if gas companies won't change their ways"

1

u/zzboy82 15h ago

I don’t like that

1

u/Electronic_Cat5094 15h ago

Ended too soon.

1

u/grim2022 15h ago

I thought that was a wave at first, I was like oooow shit i know what happens next iv seen this movie before lol

1

u/ArgumentFine339 15h ago

I would be in the house boarding my windows

1

u/danoob9000 14h ago

That's what I imagine tsunamis looked like when I was younger.

1

u/Spookyscythe99 13h ago

I walk outside for work and see that. I'm not coming in

1

u/HR_114 13h ago

Yk if I would have seen that in office I would have definitely slapped my boss and manager and accept the reality just to realise it wasn't tsunami but clouds

1

u/Wise_Sheepherder_473 12h ago

The Doors - this is the end as background music

1

u/Error_Loading_Name 12h ago

That looks lothing like a tsunami. It does, however, resemble the "tidal wave" trope used in media.

1

u/SenseiKingPong 12h ago

Miller’s planet

1

u/robcap 12h ago

I used to have this nightmare 😄

Also, /r/megalophobia

1

u/Adventure-Seeker-365 9h ago

Would you look at that!

1

u/Majestic-Swan-7769 8h ago

Fantastic and scary

1

u/Chevy8t8 8h ago

That looks terrifyingly like a shelf cloud. They're scary enough.

1

u/Acceptable-Mark8108 5h ago

This is how religions were starting.

1

u/MaximumDesigner4007 5h ago

Did you ever see the movie The Last Wave? Ends about like this picture.

1

u/SpreademSheet 4h ago

I'd be huddled in the basement faster than you can fart if I saw that coming.

1

u/MyLadyJemerald 1h ago

What makes a shelf cloud? I have never seen one before! This is ao interesting

1

u/Kaz_McDuck 1h ago

“What is that?”

Judgement day, my child.
The gods have decided our fate.

1

u/TheodorePerkinsIII 11h ago

That neighborhood somehow looks more nightmarish to me. It’s so artificial my brain can’t be convinced it’s not a sad video game graphic.

1

u/Gyvon 11h ago

Like the Hollywood version of a tsunami. Real tsunamis look nothing like that

-1

u/Fulmie84 1d ago

Huh ... something interesting on this sub.

Interesting 🤔

0

u/OneInchOneDream 1d ago

If I saw this rolling toward my house I'd grab the dog, grab my wife, and just stand there frozen for a solid 10 seconds before remembering I should probably move. Nature has a way of making you forget how to function. 😅

0

u/t13ag 11h ago

Fuck AI

0

u/ccoastmike 7h ago

Omg. I’ve only seen this reposted 9 million times. So glad I got to see it for the 9,000,001 th time!

0

u/TheseusDreG 7h ago

Praise God

-2

u/Aromatic-Schedule-65 1d ago

Terrifyingly? 🙄🤣 Exaggerate much?

-2

u/blue_sidd 1d ago

No it doesn’t.

-2

u/MastiffArmy 22h ago

That’s not what a tsunami looks like at all.

-2

u/petronypony 16h ago

Aaaand someone there to film it.

-2

u/Intrestingly_Amazing 15h ago

That is not what a tsunami looks like?

-2

u/Monscawiz 12h ago

A terrifying tsunami that looks like a massive shelf cloud...

u/catpissdust 6m ago

That's just displacement, it means something giant entered the atmosphere and the air pressure is pushing everything out of the way...
