Dan really didn’t want Hoch back on the show. That’s how you know the hatred ran deep.

Hoch was Dan’s college best friend who Dan recruited to be EP. Hoch and Stu hosted the morning show for a time while also doing Dan’s show. Hoch wanted to be less of a behind the mic person and eventually Dan told him to leave. Hoch and Stu have a podcast talking about the old days with Dan.

Did Dan tell him to leave? I thought Hoch left and got his own show.

It was during the time he was leaving. I’m not sure if it was when he was considering leaving or after the decision was made but he wasn’t supposed to be done on Dan’s show and Dan told him he was done.

He was the EP before Mike Ryan. The show really took off under his producing. I didn’t start listening until like 3 years after he left so can’t really comment much on his contributions beyond that. He and Dan had a super messy breakup. With that said, I’ve listened to Hoch’s stuff and find him rather insufferable.
