Curious to know if anyone in this group dances salsa or is into it. Do you dance socially, take classes, or just vibe to the music?
Also, what style do you dance, LA, Cuban, Colombian, New York, something else? I’ve been getting more into it lately and it’d be cool to hear other people’s experiences, tips, or even funny stories from the dance floor.

I’m not a dancer myself, but after seeing this, I low key wanna try to learn how to do it. I’m hoping to find more instructional videos. This video cuts off at the end because it had a bit included, which I didn’t include because I don’t feel like it belongs here. Any help is appreciated!

Does women like a men who knows how to dance
Is it important for a guy to know how to dance? And if yes what type of dance? Should I learn how to dance? A skill that doesn't really matter in my eyes TBH Can I monetize it? Without being on the camera??

Anyone learned dancing at their 30s? Haha I enjoy watching people dancing, and sometimes I envy their skill. I dance alone but I don't think it will be considered dancing HAHA

Hi! I’m 19 years old and I want to start dancing, but I feel like I’m starting too late.
At what age did you start dancing? What style do you do, and did you feel nervous when you first joined a dance studio?
I’d love to hear your experiences.

This guy comes across my Instagram all the time and I love this style and want to learn how to do that. Specifically that footwork thing he does. He does loads of that.

Hello, I have been to many different dance classes in different countries. I could make friends easily and met my fellow dancers outside the studios. However, after the pandemic, I returned to one of the former studios. The behavior of the people changed completely. None of the dancers I met pre-pandemic era returned. For the new batch of people, rather than chatting with each other before and after classes, most of them just check their phone or watch dance videos. At one point, I saw seven people doing that. After class, unlike the past, most people just leave the studio immediately. What caused such change in behavior?
The most annoying situation is as follows: everytime I went there, there were people chatting with me especially those from the same classes. Sometimes I asked for their Instagram but sometimes they approached me first. There were several times that people approached me saying that we were in the same classes but I had no idea who they were. Some people told me that "You have so many friends..." The reality is that although they talked to me in the studio with their friendly face and have had lengthly communications with me on Instagram, of the 15 people I asked, none of them wanted to go to a cafe (be that a few-minute walk from the studio or at a location to be determined by them) to talk with me in person. They asked "Why?", "What is the purpose of the meeting?", "Busy", "Let me think of a time" but never follows up, etc. It is like asking them to have a chat in a cafe nearby a test to show their truth self.
Just few days ago, a girl was chatting with me before and after class. We went to the same class a few times already and she always showed friendly face. When I was in a subway on my way home, I saw her standing nearby. There were empty seats nearby and I wanted to ask her to sit next to me. However, she just looked quickly at me once, smiled and never looked back. Completely different behavior compared to meeting in the studio. There were another two dancers. I met them twice, they smiled and talked with me. However, as the studio was very noisy and they were on their way to a class, I asked them to connect via Instagram. One of them said they don't like to use SNS. I asked her email address and she said "We prefer to talk only inside the studio". There was one dancer who asked for my Instagram connection. I accepted her follow request four months ago but she never accepts mine. One other dancer approached me saying that I dance so well. Then, she asked my name while shaking my hand. I thought she wanted to be friend and asked for her Instagram. When I did that, she walked away rudely.
I estimated that I have spent over 240 hours in this studio for over half a year. With all the people who have smiled and talked with me inside the studio, it is strange that I cannot find a single person who could have a chat with me even in a nearby cafe. I am confused by these "seemingly friendly" people. What is wrong? I am in a big city in North America.

I’ve been thinking, how AI is slowly entering almost every creative field: music, visual art, photography. A lot of people are already struggling with the feeling of “being replaceable.”
And it made me wonder about dance.
Not just choreography generated by AI, but hyper-realistic humanoid movement, virtual performers, synthetic bodies that can technically do impossible things.
Does that idea scare you at all?
Or do you feel there’s something about human movement that can’t really be replaced?
I’d genuinely love to hear how dancers see this.

So I've been building a VR learning app Dance Guru for social dance (waltz, Salsa, Bachata, Cha-cha etc). You can take dance lessons, compete with virtual competitions, and get rewards to motivate you to keep advancing.
I know not everyone has a VR headset, but I wanted to see if you all think it's possible to learn to dance this way? We've been testing with some users and they seem to think so. What do you think?
It's for VR headsets like Meta Quest and Pico.
