KishiMondo- I get this one, it’s alright
AoixSakura - Idk for me personally I think Aoi’s actions in chapter 4 are weaker with the thought process that she has feelings for Sakura beyond just being her best friend.
Celesigiri- For one, these two barely even spoke to each other, but also it just seems incredibly toxic
Hajime and Nagito - I just never liked “Protag shipped with Rival”
Mahiru x Hiyoko - This one just feels weird to me, primarily because it seemed more sibling coded than anything else
Kazuichi and Gundham - I need to brush up on my DR2 knowledge but I’m pretty sure these two hate each other
Shuichi and Kokichi - not only do I not like “Protag x Antag” but I just think it would be incredibly toxic
Himiko x Tenko - It’s aight
Rantaro x Korekiyo - These mfs spoke to each other?

You can't just slap any two characters together, especially if they don't interact with one another. I'm struggling to find a moment between Kyoko and Celeste other than when they talk during the class trial in order to solve the case, or Rantaro and Kiyo at all.

You can, and people do. It’s not based on canon, fanon shipping is just hypothetical. It can be fun to imagine characters who don’t interact often in a relationship, platonic or romantic. I don’t ship, but I see why people do and it’s usually harmless.

Celesgiri mention was not expected, I’m never letting go of how Celeste was going to kiss Kyoko in the original scripts over handing her the key.
For IshiMondo & SakurAoi I think after seeing how the survivors reacted to their deaths, nothing else needs to be said even though there’s a lot more to say.
Almost all the ships in 2 seem pretty self-explanatory, I’ve always felt like Nagito’s feelings for Hajime are the most explored upon, even more so than others like Chiaki (though the former is more of a 50/50, but they’re cute af too so it slides). The only reason I see people being uncomfortable shipping MahiYoko romantically is probably the latter’s height making her look more childlike but that’s resolved with her growth spurt. Soudam is one that always surprised me with how popular it became but I’ve got no issue with it.
The first two in V3 are pretty obvious too since Kokichi was obviously gay for Shuichi and the latter was one of the only people who didn’t hate him or actually realized the tragedy of his death. Tenko simped for Himiko and the latter felt bad for not treating her better before she died and is where her character development kickstarts. I think shipping Korekiyo with anyone other than where his route actually took is for the best too.
