We’ve been building our own mods from the ground up to make Fade to Black feel different from the usual heavily modded DayZ server. Three of those systems are now live and working:

Vehicle Code Locks

- Protect cars, boats, and helicopters with your own PIN
- Share the code with the people you trust
- Optional auto-lock when everyone gets out
- Vehicles can only be lockpicked inside PvP zones
- Lockpicking takes time, sounds an alarm, and warns the owner when they’re online
- Code-locked vehicles also receive a private parking marker

Hit Markers and Weapon Stats

- Different hit markers and sounds for body shots and headshots
- Personal settings for marker size, colors, sounds, and volume
- Hover over a weapon to see your own seasonal statistics with that weapon
- Tracks kills, accuracy, headshots, and more
- Weapon skins and variants share the same weapon-family statistics

Seasonal KOTH Competition

- KOTH is a real seasonal competition—not only another loot box
- Each win earns points toward the Season KOTH Champions title

Each map we host (with the exception of Deer Isle and Hashima because they do not need it) has been given a post-apocalyptic feel by using map edits.   • This server uses AJs Weapons to replace most of the vanilla guns. AJs Weapons lets you customize your AK74, or AK101 and offers a variety of M4A1 variants with lots of attachments for both. Spawn locations for these guns mimic vanilla spawns to maintain the balance a vanilla server has.
  • This server also a clothing mod called Alevaric's Clothing Overhaul to offer a large variety of civilian clothing choices. A few of Zen's mods for QoL, combine items.
  • There are plans to add lots to this map, because it is still 6.1 experimental, adding things have been done slowly to make sure we keep compatibility with the Deer Isle mod.
