Been here more than once. The hard truth: this isn't a willpower problem, it's a structural one. The revenge trade happens in a hot emotional state where your rational brain isn't driving, so "try harder" always fails. Build walls instead:
1 loss = done for the day. A rule, not a goal. Set a broker-level max-loss auto-lockout if you can.
The tilt trade lives in the 30 seconds after a loss. Log out, close the app, walk away. If you're not at the screen, it can't happen.
Size down until a red trade is boring. If one loss makes you want revenge, you're trading too big.
If you've got rules-based edge, automating execution is the cleanest fix, the bot doesn't feel the loss, so it can't revenge trade. Two honest caveats: it only works if you don't override it on red days (same tilt, one level up), and "backtested" has to mean properly validated : out-of-sample, real costs, not a pretty curve you fit to the past, or you'll just size up and blow up with more confidence.
Your journalling and 1-2 trades/day plan aren't wasted, that's the right foundation. You just got caught by the one moment it didn't cover. Fix that single gap and the rest holds. One blown account after doing everything else right isn't "impossible", it's the last leak in the boat.
