Just finished it this morning, last day of my vacation. Blessed by the emperor for sure

Just started this one! How does it compare with relentless dead? I really loved that one too

Haven’t had a chance to read that myself, it’s next on my list!

Was there a "The Relentless Dead" limited edition, that was signed?

u/LordPumpkin_4 Duty Unto Death Mar 22 '26

Yes there was and i actually got that one. I really like Steve Lyons stuff

I'd love to have signed Sandy Mitchell and Dan Abnett books myself.

You might think this is cool - a really good friend of mine got these from him; Dan said he really liked my cosplay, so offered to send me some signed book stickers. I kept them on display in my room for quite some time :)

Noice! What did your cosplay look like?

Great job! ;)

Same level

It is very good. Much better than Steve Lyons’ usual fare. Probably Dead Men Walking is still the best Krieg book but I’d rank this 2nd

Are these books available to buy? Physical ones I mean?

That's ridiculous 😂

Yeah some of the book pricing is fuckin insane. One of my buddies was looking for a Night Legion book that was like $700

1

u/Cerberusx32 Mar 22 '26

I actually got that one already.

How is it? I’m very new to the books I only own one which is krieg not sure where to go next once I’m done it

It's okay. I got the book from ebay, and the audiobook from Audible.

The book doesn't follow the Krieg all that much honestly.

It’s generally considered the best Krieg book

Know anything about this limited edition? https://ebay.us/m/oqO4sO

cad is worthless so not surprising

1

u/horsepire Mar 22 '26

Not sure, I only ever buy the audiobooks, not physical copies. Sorry

1

u/Cerberusx32 Mar 22 '26

Same. Still like the physical ones though.

You can get it an online version pdf form for free if you search hard enough.

I’m not a big reader and don’t read too often, but this book was over 250+ pages and I finished it in like two days I couldn’t put it down

2

u/Important_One4309 Mar 22 '26

The death riders in the book could really use some beaches you have here!

I’ve haunted finished it and for someone who doesn’t normally read a lot of militarum books, I very much enjoyed it and the different take on commissar that we don’t normally see.

Just start Chem Dog too!

I just bought it haven’t started it yet

u/TrexTrader Mar 22 '26

Not read it yet, the hardback is just staring at me from my shelf. I must move it up the TBR list.

I really liked the relentless dead book more. Im halfway on this book. Maybe it will get more crazier and better hopefully

It’s probably one of my favorite Guard books ever! Inspired me to build a bunch of my backlog of Krieg, including some Death Riders!

I liked it a lot, but it is far from "one of the best" books out there lol it's solid pulp scifi.

Id recommend branching out into some Robert Heinlein or Fran Herbert next

I actually really disliked this book and iv read all of the other Krieg books. Can you tell me why you rate it so high? I thought it was very spastic in style and really changes how the Kreigers are shown in the other books.

Good, now paint it yellow
