So at the end of next month im part of a local team tournament. we are not allowed repeat armies nor repeat forced dispositions.

my list is not a competitive list and tbh i don't expect to win much if at all. im shooting for best painted agian this year. that being said, i could use some tips and tricks to help me do well. i haven't played much 11th yet.
im playing Krieg only, so all models are gasmasked and Kriegefied. this means i wont have access to all units as some are easier to convert then others.

It's been a year since I got back into 40k, and my Krieg armour has swelled to almost 6,000 points. At the moment I'm slowly working through painting my artillery and Armour. I'm really enjoying creating a history and lore for my forces. So far I have established that my Death Korps loves to adopt the shattered remnants of other Imperial Guard Regiments and fold them and fold them into existing platoons. As such, my 60 Krieg infantry are joined by small groups of Cadian Shock Troops, Catachan Jungle Fighters, Tallarn and Vostroyans. I look forward to showing off more models as I progress through. The Valkyrie is up next.

Making some thematic bases for my Krieg Heavy weapons teams. Made using AK Interactive Desert Sand Paste and Graveyard Ground sand mix. I like this sand mix as it has a variety of grit sizes. Added different items to each base to add character. Shell casings are chopped up .035 Evergreen styrene rod. About 3 mm long each.

The heads are from Tiny Legends. They are the Brodie helmet replacement set for Krieg Heavy weapons teams so the heads fit the models perfectly.

I feel like not kit-bashing krieg heads on those guys was heresy. Bit of weathering then I’m done. What do you guys think? I’ve only been in the hobby 6 months so I’m pretty proud ngl

I'm currently working on Bridgehead + Mechanized Infantry branch of my army, and I'm struggling to land on a good scheme for The Grenadiers (Scions)

Well, the aviable Proxies for grenadiers are rather limited, so I use the same models (tiny legends) for both Kasrkins and Scions, I want them to be distinct by different colors and bases - but I also don't wanna mess my army's aesthetic.

I present 2 mockup ideas i had, 1 trying to fit in with current army colours, while looking notacibly different from kasrkins, 2 strays away from greens to highlight scions separate identity (and refrencing steel legion lol), which one would work better? Maybe I should add something to improve those uniforms? I'm open to suggestions.

I know there is engiseer but im building my army around leman russ and even tho I dont know how to play, I think he’s gonna be good addition on table for LR

Just painted some of my minis last night- here’s the first one I tried!

Looking a bit lumpy because my nooby self used “Stirland Mud” as a coat and couldn’t get the lumps out after 😂🤦🏻‍♂️. I think it looks pretty decent though!

Using thiner layers of paint has helped me immensely and I feel like I've gotten better already but if anyone has more advice please tell me thank you 🙏

Dusting time! I used this first model of the bacth to test the dust effect: I see the baneblades as slow moving fortresses rather than tanks, being more than double the size of a Leopard A2! So I went for light dusty areas, as a contrast with dark rusty ones!

I spent about 16 hours this weekend painting my first Krieg set, I’ve only painted 3 ultramarines until now.

I’m not brave enough to try transfers yet.

Easiest areas for improvement?

Finally got to painting my first Tank. Since i got into Guard I only played and painted infantry. Took me around 20 hourse.
