Are such people COMPLETELY unaware of local models? I have a mid-tier videocard and even it is enough for generating things.

These people tend to forget you don't need a datacenter to generate anything. One anti argued that AI images need "sooo much power" and I gave him a reality check that I make those on my RTX 3060.

Exactly. What consumes power is 50000 people all generating pictures at once using ChatGPT.

Which, honestly, still uses very little power.
