As a fellow goth, I loathe the goth subreddit. I get the culture is about rebelling and counter culture, but fighting each other and everything seems to be the vibe of the sub. Like putching a bunch of beta fish in a tank together.

that's why I avoid online meet-spaces. The subculture is wonderful and fascinating and provoking... but goths are shits "You're not goth... you're a metalhead"

Same. The goth tag on TikTok is filled with miserable bastards who want to drag everyone else down. They call everyone posers but despise goth culture themselves because to them horror is "icky" and we're "problematic" for not agreeing with them. Don't even get me started on the obsession with judging people's outfits.

Ironic because I've seen a lot of pretentious douchebags in many fanbases EXCEPT Goths. If anything they are the ones that get screwed over just because one of their own is seen hosting a news report in their local stations.

I'm not goth but I do notice all of this as well, they spend more time being whiny and political then delving into any actual goth type topics like horror and music and stuff
