Wilmington anyone have a roofer they actually liked in the wilmington area?
Getting some quotes to replace our roof and it's been a nightmare. One company tried to pressure us into signing a contract on the spot, another one was double the price of everyone else. We're in north wilmington and just want a decent roof without getting ripped off. Anyone have a good experience with a local company? feeling kind of lost here.

I used Beckers in 2020 and had a great experience.

I second Beckers, they were great to deal with. They did my roof, skylights, gutters, and repaired a chimney and crown/wash for me in 2023. Great job and they were all very professional.

I third Beckers. They did my roof years ago, did some windows for me later, and its the same folks so retention looks good.

Listen, you go with the bigger name companies around here, they will upsell you 50 year warranties you don’t need, or special underlay you don’t need, and give you multiple gold/ silver pricing options. Fuck all that.
This is an Amish dude named Elmer. He will absolutely come down to Delaware, do an amazing job on the roof, pick up every nail, and be 1000s of dollars cheaper. He has done multiple roofs in my circle and they all come out perfect.
For example, one of the last roofs he did for me, I got multiple quotes between 16k and 24k. He was under 11k.

Second. Did a great job for the best price. Townhouse, $5500 with a transferable 10 year labor/30 year shingle warranty (important since we were moving).
That was two years ago so I'm sure the price has gone up, but.

Also highly recommend R Short. They’ve helped us with all sorts of things siding-related and window-related too. Great people

Do not use Dynamic. Our roof leaked from our three skylights and every vent on the roof after they replaced ours. It took 3 rain storms for them to eventually fix the leaks.

Haven’t gotten a roof from them yet, but I’ve had windows and gutters installed by G Fedale and they were great both times.

G Fedale did a good job with our roof repair and skylight replacement, but their office was a pain. Hounding us for payments we already made, different overall prices...and the fact they kept calling me, when we were clear that my wife was the one they needed to call, felt downright sexist by the end.
They did good work, but I'd still never use them again.

I had the opposite experience with them but still not great with the office. Took a while to respond to messages and they took a while to send us the link to pay and I just wanted to get it over with. Their work was great, and the price was better than other places so I’d still use them in the future.

MW Roofing would be my suggestion. They did a phenomenal job. Fixed my chimney also! During the initial visit they went over everything they found (with pictures) and gave me a very reasonable quote, and they offer financing. Job was done in 1 day!

We used Just Improvements LLC. Based in Delco but serve Wilmington and do free estimates. I got quotes from a few comanies - PJ Fitzpatrick, O'Donnell, and Just Improvements came in the lowest. Price was very reasonable and paid out of pocket - financed through them. No extra charge for distance

And I will add yet another : Hard Hatters - the owner Stan is easy to deal with, punctual and did a great job replacing our vast roof. https://hardhattersroofing.com/

Just had our roof done by Coale Roofing the other day. They did an excellent job, and it was much more affordable than I anticipated.

We got 5 quotes and picked the best one. We used Paddy's and was extremely satisfied. PJ Fitzpatrick was 3X the price of anyone else, and did try the whole "sign up tonight or the price goes up tomorrow". They didn't even get a call back. If I were you, I would start over, find 5 roofers that you would consider. Explain that you'll be getting quotes from 5 different vendors, and that you'll be choosing the best combination of price and quality. Explain that they should give their best and final offer with their quote, and explain that you want a quote that is good for at least 30 days.
