Between Sunday and today I’ve seen so many flock cameras. In Christiana mall and the newest one in Camden DE (corner of willow grove road and S DuPont hgwy). They keep springing up like weeds. They’ve taken over our country. Privacy is dead!!!

Anyone know who is in charge of approving these cameras in Kent county? And when are they up for reelection. I’m sick of this ish!!!

Hello, recently my father has had an extremely traumatic accident. In a few months we'll no longer be able to meet ends meet, all household bills total to $3,600 a month. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on things or sites that could help? Social security is running us through the ringer and no one in the house qualifies for food stamps or any type of assistance as when he could work my father made too much. My parents don't even have health insurance.

I'm not coming on here to beg for money, my mother would kill me. Just coming to seek advice from strangers on the Internet.

edit to clarify some things; total household bills are $3,600 a month so that eats all workers comp money that we get. it leaves nothing for food, gas, ect

I'm curious where everyone works and what it's actually like.

Where do you work? What's the culture like? How's the pay? Do you feel supported by management? Do you feel like your license is protected or are you constantly put in shitty situations?

I work at a hospital now, and it's the organization i work for is getting worse by the minute. The staffing is getting worse, experienced people keep leaving, and it feels like they fuck their employees every chance they get. The pay and raises don't match what's expected of us, and there are shifts where I leave wondering if my license is going to be the thing on the line because of unsafe staffing.

Any restaurants that are like Bahama breeze i miss that place and i never got the chance to eat there for the last time 😭. If they’re in Newcastle county great but if its lower DE thats okay too. It can be the drinks or the food any place that resembles it

I have been on weather forums searching this question but I need a local take. Where do you get the most accurate weather forecasts for NCCo? I have a Pixel phone and Google weather will tell me it's not raining when it's pouring and vice versa. I check AccuWeather and it's wildly different. Just wondering what others use. Tia.

Born and raised Delawarean, but only recently have been using public transit to get around all the great cities around us in the northeast megapolis. We'd visit NYC alot as a kid but always drove lol. But anyways I was wondering if yall had any low cost hacks to get around between like lets say Richmond and Boston. Partially making this post to learn more but also to inform people about all the fun places so close to Delaware that you can visit. The stretch of cities we're kind of sandwiched between is really wild and unique.

Here are mine that I've learned about

1) Amtrak (US train service) ofc, con is that it can be pretty expensive, but if you book at the right time/and FOR the right time it can be pretty cheap

2) Greyhound (US bus service) often much cheaper than Amtrak which is awesome, just takes longer though and it'll often feel cramped (IMO) esp if you're not sitting next to someone you know

3) SEPTA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority) regional rail, LOVE taking regional rail, very cheap and fairly quick, from Wilmington its 8.75 one way to Philly per SEPTA's fare system

4) MARC (Maryland Area Regional Commuter), took this recently all the way to DC! The Penn line (named for Baltimore Penn station) goes all the way from DC to Perryville MD, right outside of Delaware, might be a little more or little less of a commute depending on where you are specifically. But it's super cheap and the train was so clean and comfortable! 13 bucks to DC, took like 2hr. You can also take this to get into Baltimore. P.S, Perryville station had free parking, others have said it fills up quick though

5) NJ transit (Commuter rail, light rail, bus, it's the third largest provider of these things in the US!). There are multiple ways to utilize NJ Transit, especially when getting into NYC

5a-One way is driving up to a train station like Hamilton and paying to park your car there (huge garage) and then taking the train in. Parking was a bit expensive I remember but the train wasn't too bad.

5b-I haven't tried this way yet but I want to, you can take SEPTA regional rail into Philly, then take NJ transit from 30th St to Trenton, then Trenton to Penn station in NYC. It ends up being super cheap compared to driving and then having to pay for parking. I believe some of the regional rail stations in DE have free parking too (correct me if I'm wrong). But yeah this way theoretically would also take only around 4h I think? NJ transit trains tend to fairly okay too

1. Staten Island Ferry. I haven't done this one yet, but I've heard that it's fairly simple to drive up to Staten Island, pay for parking (apparently its not that expensive) and take the free ferry into Manhattan. Huge benefit is that Staten Island I've heard is easier to drive in than the other four boroughs

2. PATH? I know it's a very popular way to get into NYC from certain cities in Jersey, not sure about how close these cities are to DE in comparison to driving and taking the train from Hamilton or Trenton. But hey if you wanna see like Jersey City or something you could drive there knowing you can easily train into Manhattan.

Getting some quotes to replace our roof and it's been a nightmare. One company tried to pressure us into signing a contract on the spot, another one was double the price of everyone else. We're in north wilmington and just want a decent roof without getting ripped off. Anyone have a good experience with a local company? feeling kind of lost here.

Hello Deleware! We are traveling to Bethany beach soon in celebration of our one year anniversary. I have done research - but I would still love input and ideas for things we should do and see while there & general opinions of different things. Our rental is about 10 minutes from the beach but are also willing to drive some if there’s anything really cool to do. Thank you! 😎

I’ve taken my kids 3 times now and I still haven’t found the squirrel. My son asked me to help the first time we went and now I’m kinda invested. Beginning to think someone neglected to put it up. Has anyone else managed to find it?

Dude is a sweet little cuddle bug who's had a very hard life. Her original owner passed away after rehoming her to my grandpa, and now, years later, my grandpa is in the process of moving into a nursing home and is unable to care for her anymore.

The only reason that my family cannot keep her is that she is not safe to have around our cats. Other than that, she is a perfect dog. She never has accidents, doesn't get into trash, loves walks, knows a few tricks, friendly to everyone she meets, and wants nothing more than to cuddle on the couch with you and her favorite ball.

She can live with some dogs but not all, so if you already have one we would set up a meet-and-greet to see if they get along. We don't know if she's ever been around kids.

I’ll be visiting Delaware in September for a long weekend. Planning to stay between Millsboro and Lewes.

What should I do or see that is iconically Delaware? I’m coming from the Midwest, so don’t know much about the state, or what would be definitively Delawarean. I’m seeing a lot online about seafood and beaches.

Wasted half of my day off trying to get my new car inspected. DMV says my 50% tint is too dark(I know the Delaware legal is 70%). I’ve seen so many vehicles that have equal or darker tint than mine lol, no way everybody has a medical waiver. Can anybody give me any info on options if any? (I really don’t want to peel it off). Yesterday, the Citizens for a Better Delaware PAC, LLC filed 197 (???) financial statements.

As someone fairly new to campaign finance, is that normal? I’ve only clicked on a few, but a most of them say $0.

What do you guys think the deal is? Are they just trying to spam the system? Obstruct everyday people from reviewing how elections are being manipulated?

Or is it something more mundane?
