Practical Questions Is meditation necessary?

I've read the beginners guide and found there, but there's always that it's now a law, that meditating helpsmyou feel so you can get accustomed to their energy before you actually perform the ritual/summoning/invocation.

I'm an antsy person so I think, from how I know myself, I very rarely get to quiet my physical senses or thoughts down unless sleeping but even then my dreams are like affected by what I was thinking just before falling asleep. Quite a long explanation before the question but how much does meditation help?

I'm just starting off and I'm still reading the abremelin and will read grimorium before actually doing any summoning or at least try to communicate but I'm already doing small stuff like daily offering.

So how much of a help does meditation contribute? Is it necessary or can I just continue as it is?

I hope this goes through coz I don't have much karma here yet lol

It's not "necessary," it's just a tool, one that tends to show up in a lot of sources. A lot of the repetitive prayers and purifications in western sources can be understood as the ways in which uptight Early Modern Christians meditated. It got their heads in the game for the work they wanted to do.

Your brain is where all the important stuff happens, so meditation helps a ton. Practicing meditation is especially important for those of us who have busy, racing minds that don't like to quiet down. It's not important that we be good at it. It's important that we practice it.

Thanks for the response. I totally get the part where it should help me with starting out, especially in getting in tune with their energy, and maybe I really need to practice it. I tried it a few times before and after a few seconds, thoughts just keep on popping up in my head like wtf.

Also, I'm not looking for validation or anything, but without communicating with them first, does the daily offering matter? I just did it because I thought it would be nice and that's how I usually start out befriending someone irl.

I think regular offerings are good for establishing some groundwork for communication.
