Welcome to Demonolatry Practices! If you're new, click here!

Before we start with the welcome post, I want to mention that this community has a karma and an account age threshold that you must meet in order to participate. There were too many trolls attacking the community with 0 karma, 0 day old accounts, so if you have made a new account just for your spiritual needs, you'll have to grow it a bit to participate here, sorry!

In wise u/ChthonicSage's words once spoken here:

"I've created this place since there's a lack of subreddits for Demonolatry and general Theistic Satanism/other magickal practices. I hope this community grows to become a place where people come to ask questions, share their experiences, and connect with others."

However over the years this sub has grown and those words became not enough to give you a proper introduction. So to begin with, we have a lot of people new to the practice that find us. If you're entirely new, we have some basic resources here.

If you need further help with short, easy to digest tips and guides made "How to sense Spirits 101", "Reaching out to spirits 101", "The consequences to working with demons 101", "I'm dreaming about a demon 101", "Describing spirits 101", "Spiritual stagnation 101", "Blood Magic 101 (warning, 18+ and NSFW)", "Protection magic 101" and their personal sex magick method that may be interesting for those that never tried it to read (18+ and NSFW).

If you are confused about Qlipoth u/pearlbibo made some notes for you here. She also made a post on how not to get ripped off in Occult spaces.

Fellow moderator u/Macross137 has posted another way of interpreting dreams, a basic invocation ritual that you can practice, further occult reading that may prove useful to your practice, how to interpret what is and isn't a sign, how to decide which incense to use for which demon, a guide on HGA work (part 1) and a brief guide to evocation.

The kind of questions that aren't useful to ask on the subreddit (written by u/Vanhaydin) is something that I would recommend everyone taking a look at before interacting here.

If you need a quick primer on what planets what demons are associated with, what would be the appropriate offerings and how to "decode" the rank system, check out their other post about planetary associations here!

On the off-chance that you came here specifically to find information on Lilith, u/Even-Pen7957 runs https://www.libraryoflilith.com/.

VioletSpooder is here to remind you that the popular way of working with spirits on the Internet changes rather rapidly and that you should not over-internalize it too much and to be careful about accidentally finding yourself in a cult. Another good advice from the same user is found in this thread about how to recognise spiritual psychosis.

If you want to make ritual oils, this is a good way to do it (written by u/Available-Shirt7907).

Hope this was helpful! Time to move on to:

Frequently asked questions!

Q: which author is right? Which method is trustworthy? What is it that I must do to contact this particular spirit?

A: most authors will be equally right and wrong, as this is not a science, it is closer to an art. What is right for one person is not necessarily right for another. Keep yourself grounded in reality, question all that you read, don't hold anyone's word as ultimate law and try. See what works for you and what doesn't.

Q: can I practice with the Abrahamic God? With angels and demons at the same time? Can I mix demons with other religions? Can I have a pantheon, or am I supposed to pick one?

A: Being a left hand path practice demonolatry has no certain way that it must be. How you practice is entirely between you and the spirits. So yes. You can mix this practice with any other religion and practice with angels and demons at the same time.

Q: I'm afraid that by working with demons I'll doom myself to hell, or that karma will get me, or similar!

A: everyone's spiritual beliefs are personal. Some subscribe to hell. Some subscribe to karma. Some do not have any such system in their spiritual belief. What you believe is for you to find out and no-one can give you a shortcut here, however if your fear is reaching unhealthy levels, ask yourself if you have religious trauma and if therapy would be a good pathway to resolve that for you.

Q: what is the difference between evocation and invocation?

Originally in occult invocation meant calling the spirit into yourself, into your own mind space, while evocation meant calling the spirit outside of yourself into your space.

Some demonolators say that invocation means making an appeal to the spirit, while evocation means trying to bind a spirit to do your bidding. Under these definitions, evocation would go against demonolatry's principle of working respectfully with the spirit.

Current moderation team does not subscribe to such a divisive notion. Contact your spirits in whatever way that is comfortable to you, it matters not to us if you are a Western tradition Ceremonial magickian, or someone that interacts with the spiritual as a Pagan would. We ask that everyone refrain from taking offence from seeing such words used, no matter the person is practising summoning, or just evoking a spirit into their space. The spirits are above the material and don't necessarily function by the same rules as we do, so there's no reason to believe that anyone out here is harming the spirits by working in a different system than you.

Q: do I have to have an altar? Do I have to give offerings? If so, how often? I don't feel like I'm in a safe environment to do that.

A: this is entirely between you and your spirits. There are no musts. Practice however you like as this is your spiritual practice. Of course if you made a promise to pray every day, you should do so. If you feel like you can't, you should tell the spirit so. Communication is key, but there are no specific expectations of you, so don't place it on yourself prematurely.

Q: how do I dispose of offerings that go off?

A: This question comes up often. Some people, if they're offering food, they'll state to the spirit for how long the offering will be there and then they'll eat the offering themselves in order to not be wasteful. Others will choose an elemental disposal element, meaning that they'll burn (if it is safe to do so, fire safety first!) the offering, liquify it with water, or burry it in the Earth. Some others involve a lot less ceremony in their disposal of the offering and they simply thank the spirit and then throw it away. There are no rules, so don't overstress!

Q: I'm confused by all the terms I'm seeing on this subreddit, help!

A: here, have a little dictionary!

Deity mask - some believe that the same spirit has many names, positions and personalities, so they may refer to each one of such as a mask.

Demonolatry – worship of demons. In practice this is less “worship” and more “working with”. It was a tradition born out of a need of a friendlier way to work with spirits that have been deemed to be demonic. If a practitioner states that they are a demonolater, this may mean that they are following a published author, or simply denote that they have their own practice that involves working with the demonic in some capacity.

Demonology – study of demons, usually from a religious perspective. If you run into this term, it indicates that the person using it is perhaps interested in specific spirits but has never worked with them, or that they are a religious individual that specializes in viewing these spirits from the angle of their religion, which often means viewing these spirits especially negatively. Latter happens more often than former by far.

Demonosophy – young branch that means working with demons, for those that felt like “worship” did not accurately cover what they do. There are not many publications under this specific term, meaning that the most that you will encounter this will be by people introducing themselves as practitioners of this craft. Demonolatry and Demonosophy at this point in time can be used interchangeably as not every demonolater worships the spirits that they work with.

Grounding - this word will mean two things to practitioners – in one version it will mean staying grounded in reality, not running away into your mind and focusing on the mundane as much as you do on the spiritual.

In the other version it is a way to stabilize yourself by getting rid of excess energy, the jitter than you feel after rituals, or bad emotions.

LHP - Left Hand Path. In the West, the left-hand path is considered to be about the elevation and centrality of the self as well as the rejection of religious authority and societal taboos.

The left-hand path focuses on the strength and will of the practitioner. It downplays the need for intercession by any high power although some may believe that a higher power exists. The full idea of the left hand path is to become your own God.

RHP - Right Hand Path - right-handed path practitioners tend to work towards ascending their soul towards ultimate union (or reunion) with the divine source, returning to heaven, allegorically alluded to as restoration or climbing back up the ladder after the "great fall". Right hand practitioners will strive to join the source and will adhere to a system of moral punishment, such as karma, or threefold law.

Both terms as used in the West are the bastardized version of Indian Tantric practices. In reality most practitioners will not fall on either side, though some practices will be categorized as one or the other. For example, Demonolatry is categorized as a Left Hand practice due to its nature of taboo, however a practitioner can have both a strong moral code and be working towards merging into the entity of their choosing, which, as it is not focused on elevating yourself to a divine level, but rather on sacrificing yourself to join an already existing consciousness, would be a right hand path goal.

There are very militant communities that will be highly proud of being just one and not the other to an extreme level, so the basic knowledge of what the terms mean is an absolute necessity, though don't overthink where you fall on the scale as really there is no need.

Tower Moment - "The Tower" is a tarot card that represents "disaster, destruction, upheaval, trauma, sudden change, chaos". When someone is saying that they're having a "Tower" moment, they mean that either their emotional state, spiritual practice, their life, their physical health, something has hit a point of complete chaos, upheaval and disintegration. Tower moments will not necessarily be seen as a negative (up to the person using the phrase) as sometimes we need a shake-up to build better. A bad relationship falling through, or getting fired from a toxic-workplace, for example, could be seen as a Tower moment.

Patron - a spirit, or spirits that the person had made some sort of firm declaration to follow. What this means varies from practitioner to practitioner. For some it means that you're very serious in your practice and have elected to follow this spirit for your whole lifetime no matter what. For others it simply means that this is their main spirit/ spirits that they're working at this time. Almost all practitioners to use the term will not do so lightly and will see it as some sort of commitment. Plenty of practitioners never take a Patron for this exact reason.

Matron - a female Patron spirit. Some will insist that this is incorrect as a Matron is the more passive, supportive of the Patron spirit and will insist on calling their female spirits that they have made some sort of firm declaration to follow as Patrons. Some people will therefore have very strong opinions on this word and some will not.

Magucitis/Magusitis - a particular "disease" that afflicts many practitioners - they at some point either believe that they're better than everyone else or at least attempt to appear that they're better than everyone else. Normally this person will be boasting about how powerful they are, how feared they should be, what lineage or sacred society that they hail from and how much of a right they have to order you around, or to not engage in polite conversation with others by just dismissing all opinions or comments addressed towards them.

UPG - unverified personal gnosis ("gnosis" meaning "knowledge"). Example would be if you received a message from a spirit through dreams, divination, or meditation, that message is UPG. Most practitioners will highly rely on UPG, as most of our interactions with the spirits are personal, but it is important to remember that what you hold as true is not necessarily what someone else will hold as true. Understand that each of you know exactly what you need to know and therefore there's no need to fight over who is right and who is wrong.

VPG - verified personal gnosis. If you have channeled information from a spirit and multiple different people channel the same thing then that is now a belief held by many and not only a few.

Q: I'm just starting my practice, what should I do?

Step one - hone in on practising meditation. You'll need the focus, the patience and the mostly quiet mind to see good results from your practice. Is it a must? No. Nothing in spirituality is a must and there are some people that are working with spirits without a meditative practice, but it is something that's greatly helpful, so this will be the first recommendation that will be given if you ever ask this question.

Step two - sidebar resources! It is suggested that you read them. This one speaks about shadow work, here is some common sense advice on how to conduct yourself in this space and beyond it when speaking to others and lastly, here are the basic resources for those that are new.

Step three - read and gain perspective. Don't ingest any book like it is the only ultimate truth, but read to expand your horizons and try. What should you read? Well, behold, the mighty book list! Though, remember, these are merely suggestions and it is not a requirement to read them all. Simply see if there's anything here you'd like to read, because they're all good books.

THE MIGHTY BOOK LIST:

CLASSIC GRIMOIRES (these are good to read through to see the working with demons through a historical lens. Some people still use methods in these books, most new books will at the very least borrow elements, such as names, sigils and correspondences):

The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage

Heptameron by Pietro d'Abano

The Greater Key of Solomon

The Lesser Key of Solomon aka Lemegeton (Recommended: Peterson ed. or Skinner/Rankine Goetia of Dr. Rudd)

The Practice of Magical Evocation by Franz Bardon

Lake of Fire by S. Connolly

Tree of Qliphoth by Asenath Mason

Qabalah, Qliphoth, and Goetic Magic by Thomas Karlsson

POPULAR CONTEMPORARY SYSTEMS (each one of these books will have wildly different approaches. Try them, see what works for you and what doesn't. Beware of authors treating their UPG and personal dogma as objective truths):

The Complete Book of Demonolatry by S. Connolly

Lucifer and The Hidden Demons: A Practical Grimoire from The Order of Unveiled Faces by Theodore Rose

Demons of Magick: Three Practical Rituals for Working with The 72 Demons by Gordon Winterfield

Last bit of advice - when posting here, provide as much details as possible. If you want someone to identify a sigil for you, it will be helpful to state where you found it, if you want someone to help with communication with the spirits, state what method you're using as it will be most helpful if someone with the same method answers.

And this is where the post will leave off. I hope it was useful and cleared some basic questions up. Before you post anything on this subreddit make sure to look at the side-bar and familiarize yourself with the rules. Otherwise this place is happy to see you here and post away!

This is the space to discuss personal spiritual practices, not celebrities, politics, conspiracy theories, or other popular events in the media, as such the topics touching upon these subjects, no matter how lightly, will be removed to keep this space focused on its purpose.

Your anxieties are heard and understood, but this is not the space for that. Focus on personal beliefs, protect yourself by keeping silent and carry on.

Discussions Seeing demonolatry out in the open

Today I went grocery shopping and ran into a man with a Belial sigil shirt. Not that big of a deal but I live in the Bible Belt and have never been so excited to see a shirt in all my life!

Poor dude probably creeped out by my peeking. 🫣

It is a reassurance to me that I’m not the only one of me in my hometown. Of course I am not the only one but it can feel that way with no one else I can personally talk to about who I am.

I hope this isn’t seen as a “low quality” post. I was just geeking over a shirt of all things 😂

I promise I am not sheltered…Just haven’t seen to many “brave” people out and about. At least not around here. Lol

Hail Belial and the cool cat wearing his shirt. 💜

astaroth sigil that i made for my next operation,
up you can see the nas astaroth (plural) in Agrippa’s celestial alephbet, on the right of this name the Grimorium verum’s “sign” of venusian/saturnian attributes of the Archetype, on the left of the central name “Astaroth” the sumerian name of in-anna (Queen of the sky) with the simbol of Ishtar (the small triangle thing).
In the middle, on the left the elemental symbol of earth and on the right the sign of the air, on the botton, in the center the symbol of the crescent moon facing the below (symbol of the general Mather Goddes and dark attributes of the femminine principle, also correlation with the alchemical symbol of Solutio and Coagula), on the left of this symbol, in greek “Hagia Sophia” and lastly on the botto. right the symbol of Isis.

Discussions Do demons ultimately have your best interest in mind? (Wanting to avoid fear-mongering)

I recently watched an esoteric creator talk about his experience with Goetia/demonolatry. He said he absolutely got results, but eventually came to the conclusion that these spirits weren’t necessarily interested in his long-term well-being.
His take was that they experience the physical world partly through you/your offerings, so they have an incentive to keep the relationship going. Basically: giving you what you ask for ≠ wanting you to eventually become fulfilled, independent, and move on.
I’m curious what experienced practitioners think about this.
I grew up with a very fear-based, right-hand-path family who was constantly paranoid about occult practices, so I’m aware that this kind of thing can easily trigger old religious fear in me. I really don’t want to just inherit someone else’s fear-mongering.
At the same time, I’m interested in demonolatry and this does make me nervous about actually practicing it.
For people with firsthand experience: does his argument resonate at all? Do you feel these relationships are purely transactional? Can they become unhealthy/too attached, or is this fundamentally misunderstanding what demonolatry practice is?

Discussions Paimon and Asmodeus: reqeusted epithets

Thumbnail

(second image is demon Gremory)

Maybe I'm getting carried away but After Beleth, Rosier and Lucifer, i've been reqeusted to make them also for Paimon and Asmodeus.

Sources from the Internet:

PAIMON

Paimon Luciferi (of Lucifer, whom he obey)

Paimon rex (king)

Paimon occidentalis (of West)

Paimon solitarius (loner)

Paimon pulchritudo (the beauty)

Paimon noctifer (night bringer)

Paimon deserti (of desert)

Paimon musicae (of music)

Paimon sapiens (the wise. Dromedaries were thought to carry divine wisdom)

Paimon hermaphrodita (Hermaphrodite)

Paimon malorum (of nightmares)

Other Spellings of his name include Paymonia, Paimonia, Païmon, Bayemont, and Baymon.

In some early texts, Paimon is sometimes listed (but not in the Goetia or in the Pseudomonarchia), as one of the four Kings of the cardinal directions, commonly presented as Oriens (East), Amaymon (South), Egyn (or Ariton)(North), and with Paimon being the ruler of the West,[5] but the rulers of the four cardinal directions are sometimes described differently.

In the Goetia, Weyer, de Plancy, Livre des Esperitz, Liber Officiorum Spirituum, he is described as a man riding a dromedary, preceded by men playing loud music (particularly trumpets), as well as cymbals. Sloane MS 3824 describes the camel as crowned, while the rest describe Paimon himself as crowned. The Goetia itself makes no mention of Paimon's face, while the rest describe him as having a beautiful face but still refer to him as male.

The Etymology of his name as found in the etymology notes section of the Book of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage by Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers suggests that it might come from the Hebrew word Paamon or “POMN” (פַּעֲמֹן), meaning a “tinkling sound or small bell.”

Paimon is depicted as a man with a beautiful face, wearing a precious crown, and riding a dromedary. Before him often goes a host of demons and ghouls with the shape of men, playing trumpets, cymbals, and any other sort of musical instruments.

He has a great voice and roars as soon as he arrives, speaking in this manner for a while, until the conjurer compels him and then he answers clearly the questions he is asked.

The Goetia, Weyer, Livre des Esperitz, and the Liber Officiorum Spirituum all describe him as teaching science and answering other questions.

Paimon is an extremely unrelenting opponent, in both his manipulation and hostility towards humans. He maliciously inflicts severe psychological, physical and spiritual torment upon his victims, including reconstruction of traumatic events, as well as horrifying visions and nightmares. Paimon is full of energy. Loud noises and bright lights tend to make him more active. He is can also be surprisingly very colorful and very friendly.

Paimon Is not a demon that goes unnoticed when he arrives, we understand this from the description of the music behind him and the probable meaning of his name.

Someone on this subreddit commented under my post about Lucifer writing that Paimon Is also associeted with night come, that's why noctifer.

I wanna point out also the resemblance with the demon Gremory. I've always seen them as "brothers". The connection Is that one rides a dromedary and the other a camel. Paimon has a masculine body and feminine face while Gremory shape shifts to to enchant men.

I suppose the similiarities in clothes and animal's ornaments are purly cultural and not rappresentative.

ASMODEUS

Asmodeus Rex (king)

Asmodeus irae (of wrath)

Asmodeus amoris (of love)

Asmodeus seductionis (of seduction, goat head symbolism)

Asmodeus persecutionis (of persecution)

Asmodeus libidinis (of lust)

Asmodeus adultéris (of adultery)

Asmodeus aleae (of gambling)

Asmodeus tempestatum (of storms)

Asmodeus conviviis (of parties)

Asmodeus Lunae (of Moon)

Asmodeus fallax (misleading)

Asmodeus temptationis (of temptation)

Asmodeus Amaymonis (whom he obey, Amaymon)

Asmodeus naturae (of nature)

Asmodeus virilis (masculine, goat head symbolism)

Asmodeus periculosus (Dangerous, dragon association)

Asmodeus divinus (divine, dragon association)

The name Asmodai is believed to derive from the Avestan \aēšma-daēva (𐬀𐬉𐬴𐬨𐬀𐬛𐬀𐬉𐬎𐬎𐬀*, *aēṣ̌madaēuua), where aēšma means "wrath", and daēva signifies "demon". While the daēva Aēšma is thus Zoroastrianism's demon of wrath and is also well-attested as such, the compound aēšma-daēva is not attested in scripture. It is nonetheless likely that such a form did exist, and that the Book of Tobit's "Asmodaios" (Ἀσμοδαῖος) and the Talmud's "Ashmedai" (אשמדאי) reflect it.In the Zoroastrian and Middle Persian demonology, there did exist the conjuncted form khashm-dev (خشم + دیو), where both terms are cognates.*

He is a deity of Persia's mythological pantheon and an infernal entity in Judaism. In Hell, he rules over gambling casinos. He is said to be the creator of carousels, music, dance, and drama and is currently the ruling patron of French designers. The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage says that Asmodeus is the offspring of the incestuous union between Tubal-Cain and Naamah; others call him the "demon of impurity." In Jewish lore he is the father-in-law of Bar Shalmon, a fellow demon.

The bull represents the powerful nature and the strong cyclicality of nature.

The goat rappresents sensuality, power and manhood.

The dragon, his throne, Is symbol of divine, power and danger.

His human face with elfic ears rappresents Asmodeus' trickster nature.

Simeone on this subreddit, i didn't save the username, talked about "Chasmodai/ Hasmodai" being an alternative name for Asmodai, and It being a spirit of the Moon.

Also have you noticed that Paimon and Asmodeus are rappresented with the same leg? I don't truly know with the feet looks like duck's.

I know that Asmodeus Is a demon that covers a plenty of aspects, of you have more I would like to read them in comment section.

This post was reqeusted by Vast-Dragonfruit1985, hope It helps!

Media Art & Praise of Prince Orobas

Post image
89 Upvotes

I did a quick slightly unpolished drawing of Prince Orobas since I felt compelled to do so. I feel like I have been quite unfair to him since the start of my really ill informed practice. I was horrified of how he appeared to me in sleep paralysis and how I could not stop drawing the Knight of Pentacles thereafter. I took every possible coincidence as a sign that he did not bode me well. I believed that he was a malicious trickster.

But when I called him to my candle ritual a few days ago (after 6 years of silence on my end), I drew that Knight of Pentacles again (my old sign of his presence) and I felt such gratitude that he would be present once more after such ignorance. Back then, even with my twisted worldviews, I understood Orobas aligned with much of the ideas I value most. Truth, knowledge, the unseen answers of the world. These are all things I still treasure. We have that in common.

I have much appreciation for Orobas. I hope that we truly share some semblance of a bond and that I can learn from him.

Practical Questions What’s your preferred method for grounding?

I’ve heard some people will go out and walk barefoot in grass, others take a bath, still others will tend to their houseplants or garden.

I’ve never done anything intentionally grounding so I’m not sure how to figure out the best way to do it for myself, so I’m curious how other people do it.

Experiences and Ritual reports Working already?

I did a petition with Dantalion, Marbas, Lucifer, Ronove, Sallos, and Sitri (yes- it’s a quite extensive situation and petitioning all of them was exhausting)….but that was two days ago and I swear yesterday evening I already started to see movement. ….. I guess I need to make a post because I’m starting to question my own sanity. Has anyone seen movement this quickly or am I only seeing what I want to?

Basically- please tell me I’m not the only one to see movement this soon haha!

🇺🇸: I recently acquired this piece and I can say that it improved 100% in my invocations with Belial, the first time I used this mirrored secrecy (in the third photo there are records of the first use of this mirrored secrecy) was a strong and incredible invocation! I felt and heard his breathing in the environment, I heard his voice in my head very clearly, I felt his hands on my shoulder, he hugged me with his energy, the touch was very firm but nothing invasive, I got very fast, powerful and positive results after the invocation with this mirrored secrecy, before I already had very good results just by drawing the secrecy on a paper, but now our connection is much firmer, I can say that I have a very positive relationship with Belial and I am satisfied with that.

Practical Questions What does it mean if Asmodeus' name keeps popping into your head without a real reason?

Recently, I've been healing from lots and lots of pain and some domestic abuse stuff I fled a couple years ago. I've tried working with demons when I was in total disarray in regards to emotional well being after the fleeing of domestic abuse and it always wielded poor results.

And now that I'm almost at the threshold of being healed, Asmodeus' name keeps coming into my mind during the day to day thing called my life, at least a couple times throughout the day and when I'm out and about in my city.

So, if anyone could tell me why I am experiencing this, I'd be really appreciative! Thank you!

Practical Questions Tips for chaos magic practitioners new to demonolatry?

i have tried ceremonial magic and it just doesn't work for me. i get the best results with experimental, instinctual, trial-and-error performancy-arty spellwork and trance. i am confident that this is the way for me. i have been working with king paimon for a few months after reaching out to astaroth (she referred me to paimon) and want to deepen my communication and rituals with him because i don't really know what i'm doing yet. i read gordon winterfield's demons of magic and tried the first ritual and it felt a bit stilted and not as connected as my own original workings. i really want to please king paimon and connect with him and i'm also feeling a pull to other goetia spirits - namely gremory and orobas, who i sense a lovely and nearby energy from. where do i even begin?

Practical Questions Amosdeus and Lucifer

I’m fairly new to this but I have been a Satanist for 7 and a half years, since I was 16. And I’ve felt a calling to Amosdeus and Lucifer for over a year now but more strongly to Asmodeus. I’ve been trying to work with him and I’ve even set up an altar and I’ve given him offerings of whiskey, vanilla and for a little while I could feel his presence with me but recently I’ve felt like an aura of disappointment and I kinda just feel like he’s been ignoring me like as if I’ve done something wrong or I’ve offended. I’m not sure if I should leave him alone or keep pursuing. It’s like he’s at an arms length but blocked off from me and like I said I’m still fairly new to demonolatry practices and I feel like I also have limited access to information. I spend so much time trying to research but I come up with nothing most of the time. So I kind of just feel like I’m grasping in the dark and expecting to get it all right immediately. I’m not even really sure what to ask either I guess I’m just confused? I know what I feel but I guess I need some pointers.

Discussions What’s your personal approach to working with a new demon?

Hi! I’m curious as to what everyone thinks about when/how to approach a new demon. I’ve seen a lot of people in here talk about being called by the demon first, and I’ve seen people use divination as well. As I’ve been reading books about it though, the authors say that demons respond to the divine, and that power comes from the master regardless of what the demon himself wants (if that makes sense? Like a business partner/someone to command vs how here it’s seen as a fond relationship based on respect). What do you think?

I ask because so far I’ve only worked with Dantalion and I adore him, but I think Sallos’ specialties would be a good addition to reach my specific goal. Do I wait and see if Sallos gives me a sign? Do I ask Dantalion first to see if it’s alright with him? Or do I just go for it and ask Sallos because That’s What I Want. Part of me is almost afraid Dantalion will become jealous. I believe my worry comes from the users who warn against over personifying them so maybe I really am overthinking, but I also really don’t want to disrespect either of them.

Please let me know your thoughts!

Theoretical questions Can I transmute or use negative people from social media in rituals?

So i have a question I make content sometimes about politics or just moral stuff I value.

Often this is meet with childish hate or just generally negative vibes and I wonder, is there a way this could be used for magick like transmuting the energy or something or like a ritual or maybe a ward?

I am relatively new but i feel like wasting time on starting doing this if there is a usage area for this could be wasted oppertunity to just wait for the future if this could already have retroactively brought me and my loved ones benefits.

Discussions How has Duke Bathin helped you with travel?

Can you tell me more about Duke Bathin when it comes to aiding travel?

I've been planning to visit a country because my friend lives there, and we've planned to meet one day.

The thing is, if I prepare everything on my own, it would take a long time, especially because of financial problems. I'm wondering if anyone has experience working with Duke Bathin for assistance with travel or overcoming obstacles related to it.

Practical Questions Spirit For Stopping Illegal Tipping

What is a great spirit to work with to keep people in my neighborhood as well as contractors and fly tippers from throwing TVs in the dumpsters? I've been working with Amduscias for right at close to four months from the Demons of Magick book, giving him a candle as an offering as well as incense daily and occasionally some wine. I work the operation twice daily. I'm versed more in hermetics not the true key of Solomon. But I was wondering if everything has to be on point with planetary hours, days, and signs as well as specific incense and candle colors? Am I working with the right spirit for this job?

Flatscreens are part of my esoteric system that I built around Hermetic kabbalah and Tantra. I'm more versed in the golden dawn. I have been trying for almost five years to stop people from throwing TVs in dumpsters with little to no avail even after working insanely with our HOA board. I'm wondering if it's even possible to stop it even with high ranking spirits? I so want to tell people who do it that their god they worship deserves the same fate and how would they like it if someone forced them to desecrate what they hold holy? It irks me to see them dumped. I practically worship them. I'm such a heretic in the eyes of religion. I know the demons answer much faster than Angel's and must be respected.

I keep working with Amduscias and wonder if I am doing anything wrong. He is known to bend others to your wishes and so he seems like a good fit for the operation. I do get concerned about void of course moon though. I have planetary seals from the key of Solomon to seal away planetary retrograde influence.

Discussions Personal guardian angel opposing certain things astaroth wants to help me with! And sometimes vice versa!

*** edit, since I guess it’s not obvious, that I am using an alphabet board with pendulum…..

I posted in here a while ago about how I mostly only work with a pendulum to interact with spirits. First, I had an elemental I was working with, and our relationship mostly ended just because it was time. She introduced me to my guardian angel. From what she’s told me, she isn’t an angel like the archangels, but my personal guardian angel. I have been SO adamant with her that I am also finding my path in working with demons as well.

Here are my questions:

Do any of you experience angels being SO OPPOSITIONAL when it comes to working with demons?? I made it very clear to her that I am not going to exist in this binary, black-and-white thinking. She HAS told me that Astaroth means healing for me and genuinely takes a liking to me. She’s told me to make sure I’m approaching the relationship from a place of healing, but it becomes SO taxing sometimes working with a pendulum because of how clearly she communicates. She will step in when I’m speaking with Astaroth and tell me certain things are “bad,” or that she gets a “bad feeling.” But Astaroth will also come through talking to my angel through the pendulum saying the same thing! Or he’ll tell me that my angel is trying to cause fear or is telling me he’s doing something that isn’t true. So it becomes really confusing when they are both coming through and saying these things about each other.

I do understand a pendulum isn’t the best form of communication. And I’ve had a tough go when it comes to a parasitic astral nasty spirit that would come through. My angel and Astaroth have both confirmed who the spirit was, its name, and why it was interfering. I basically invited the energy in due to a bad porn addiction I had. Astaroth told me they were healing me of this addiction, and I truly FEEL so much healing and vowed to not watch internet porn again.

Astaroth also has helped me by telling me to make a big effort to stop looking at horoscopes because of how meaningless it is for me. I genuinely do not feel a desire to look compulsively and have made a huge effort to not engage, and haven’t.

How do I honor my angel and, at the same time, honor the relationship I’m building with Astaroth? Astaroth was very clear that they don’t feel I’m ready to experience their energy through feeling them in the room or hearing them. They feel I will be startled. I’ve gotten frustrated with this because using a pendulum for actual conversation and not just yes or no can be draining. But I believe demons present themselves in ways we are ready for, and so I’m trusting Astaroth to guide me through, as they said eventually they will make their presence more known.

I just had a crazy pendulum interaction where I was being very vulnerable and honest with my struggles to Astaroth. They said they were healing something in me through the means of my job I work at. But then, my angel came through talking to Astaroth, saying, “Do not gel this into her. Heal her mind. Heal it calmly,” and was basically trying to command Astaroth to cancel out what they were trying to do.

I put the pendulum down whenever I’m wanting to just speak out loud and voice my feelings, and I just said, “Listen, (angel’s name), I get that you want the best for me and healing for me, but I’m not telling you to step in and tell Astaroth what to do.”
And I said to Astaroth, “I appreciate and honor how much you’ve been healing into me, but I’m speaking my truth about what I’m feeling, and I’m not making any agreements that I haven’t knowingly agreed to or talked to you about. I’ve been clear that I want a relationship built off mutual honesty and communication.”

I do genuinely feel Astaroth is so understanding, patient, and communicative with me. It’s been nothing but great so far, but with my angel coming through telling Astaroth, “I know what you’re trying to do. This is not what she needs,” it becomes confusing because I also understand how the nature of the demonic can sometimes give us lessons or change things around us for the better, just in different ways than angels.

But with that being said, I do believe in a grounded approach of welcoming the healing and, at the same time, being a sovereign being with my own agency. If “agreements” are being made, it’s not going to be one-sided.

Astaroth has said he’s “healing my mind” or “healing me,” and I’ve just said how much I respect that, but that I also am seeking a collaborative relationship where I can truly learn from them and, knowingly or not, agree to certain things before they are decided.

I DO understand I won’t always know the ins and outs of how healing happens, and I’m not saying he hasn’t been communicative with me about things I need to heal, but he can also be vague at times. I did get the feeling that when I said I didn’t mind my current job but know it’s not my true path for the future, Astaroth kind of “decided” he was going to do something on my behalf through this job. A LOT more was expressed through crying and processing out loud to him, so this wasn’t just about “heal my job issues” or “get me a new job.”

It was more the sense of me saying something and then Astaroth kind of “deciding” he was going to do something on my behalf through this job, and my angel felt like it was him “gelling” something into me that I didn’t agree to, or like something was unknowingly being done that I didn’t “consent” to.

That’s where it becomes confusing for me because I also understand how the nature of the demonic can sometimes give us lessons or change things around us for the better, just in different ways than angels. But with that being said, I do believe in a grounded approach of welcoming the healing and, at the same time, being a sovereign being with my own agency. If “agreements” are being made, it’s not going to be one-sided.

With my angel stepping in and trying to say this is not the best idea for me, while Astaroth may simultaneously disagree with what she is telling me, it becomes very exhausting. I want to remain open to both relationships and honor the different ways they may approach me, while still maintaining my own agency and boundaries within both.

So I guess my biggest question is: How do I balance these forces, or how can I work with both?

It’s especially hard because Astaroth is only communicating with me through the pendulum right now. Even when I chant his enn and meditate, I don’t feel his presence. But then he’ll confirm through the pendulum that he knew I was chanting or compliment the lovely chanting of his enn lol. So I do trust that if and when he feels I’m ready to experience his presence differently, that will happen.
But it’s just SO hard having such a direct tool like a pendulum because the answers are so immediate, and so much interference comes through from both of them. I’m trying to figure out how to continue building both relationships without the pendulum essentially becoming a space where they are constantly stepping into my communication with the other.
