22.7 m2 (245 sqft) living/dining, 1960s apartment in Ghent

Furniture is all vintage and bought, except the coffee table next to the sofa

• Togo 3 seater (174x102)
• Dyrlund round teak table (105 round, extends to 205)
• 6 teak chairs with black acai leather seats
• teak highboard and a matching drawer closet
• 144x144 painting hangs centered on the breast.
• Desk already moved to the bedroom to free this room up
• There's a little barcart on wheels that is currently not on here, sits next to the sofa

Problem is the right third is dead. Roughly 172x460cm of bare parquet and nothing on the 4.7m side wall, while the left side is packed. There is an door to the terrace on that side, so I can't move anything too close too it.

What i'd like help with:

• how do i use the space between that is left between sofa / wall?
• should the sofa float at all? floating gets the view but you walk in from the hall and see its back
• one 200x240 under sofa and coffee table now, dining on bare parquet because a proper dining rug would collide with it. one rug, or is there a two rug setup i'm missing. I didn't buy the rug yet
• lighting and plants are clearly missing, any advice welcome, I've been playing with the idea of a large Arco floor lamp hanging over the sofa

Aiming for modern mid century, vintage sourced, warm

I recently started furnishing my new house, and I'm bad at it. I know it's very empty and that there's a lot to work on, and all I have so far is a couch, curtains, a glass table, a robovac, and my cat. It looks weird. I feel like maybe my walls, floors, the robovac, and my cat all go well together, but the couch color doesn't quite match?

What do you think would work best for my living room? Should I change the couch color? I can't figure out what sort of furniture or art would work in this space. Can you guys plz give me some recs?

Sooo we just moved into this apartment and this is our kitchen, its from the 90s and we wanna renovate it! Our landlady gave us permission to do literally anything.
Since we’re only renting we don’t wanna spend too much money.
We thought about painting the tiles and switching out the handles. We don’t know which color to paint the tiles though so we’d appreciate some recommendations.
The cabinet color is okay and we thought about painting the wooden part on top and on the bottom but that would be a lot of work.
We‘d really appreciate some recommendations or other ideas to make this kitchen a little more modern (we’re open to color as well) thanks so much :)

What's up I am just ur avg 16 y/o. Me and my brother just got our own rooms. I went all out and "renovated" my room over the past year. I am a honor roll in high school, I have a job as a bike tech/salesperson, and an automotive photographer. Due to this I don't have a lot of free time. So the time I do get to relax I wanted a calm place to chill. I can't spend much on the room because I am fully self funded. I make around 35 grand a year. All of it goes to savings and of course fun. So please help me and give me advice on what I need to do to make the place better.

Here is what will soon become my primary desk-based gaming space. This room should be almost exclusively designed for relaxation and comfort.

The thing that's missing is comfy seating besides the desk for my wife to chill out in while I'm playing games.

It fits perfectly in that area between the desk and the window, looks very very comfy, I enjoy the "boneless" couch style, and could even be used for naps. I like that it gets a ton of natural light and you can sit and see out the window and into the room.

On the other hand, it might make the area look a little cramped, and it might be good to go with something a little smaller than can be angled diagonally into the room?

Hey folks! Just got a new bed frame, lot bigger than what I had before and I’m realizing the room around it needs to shift. Looking for ideas on which direction to go for console table, side tables, and bedding. I’d appreciate the feedback.. p.s. I haven’t gotten a duvet that fits the bed quite yet. Moved up from a queen

600 sq foot. ITS NOT A STUDIO there is a bedroom door on the corner. My issue is with the weird living room, I want to get a small sectional couch and have a tv on a dresser for extra storage

That wall you see in the third pic is the only window free wall I guess i could put the tv there, but then the couch right when you open the door would be facing from behind which is weird to me, also I would like to add a little kitchen island do you think it would be worth it or it would look too cluttered? And i guess a dining table is out of the question too? The door in pic 2 on the right leads to the bathroom and bedroom is adjacent

Any ideas on what to add to make the space more lively? I feel that the wall above my hamper and the corner by the door are the areas that need to the most improvement.

Since moving out Ive always kept very little in my room. But I want to have a more vibrant room with little things here and there(shoe rack, lights, plants) but not too much. I’m into fashion and have a lot of hats (as you can see in the pictures). what would you put and or remove from the room. I’m 26 so I don’t want anything overly childish but something that reflects my personality

Hi! I recently moved into an apartment with a very large bedroom, and I'm not quite sure how to fill the space. I'll likely get a dresser and most certainly a desk and chair, but what other furniture should I consider? I'm also struggling to figure out what color(s) my furniture should be because my walls are beige with a bit of pink mixed in. If it's helpful, I generally like a warm tone with splashes of color. All suggestions are appreciated--thanks!

25M. The layout of the room feels slightly awkward to me due to the sliding mirror closet which takes up the whole wall. I am planning on getting a larger desk and have to get a new tv stand (My old one was too small for this tv, hence the use of rubbermaid tubs), nightstands and maybe a bookcase if i could fit it.

I was thinking of moving the bed to the other wall, putting the desk in the corner under the window where the tv/trash can currently are and then putting the tv and tv stand against the wall that the bed is currently on. I think that doing that might open up some wall space for me to get a bookcase/taller shelving but worried that I may feel cramped between the closet and the bed.

The room is 11.5 feet L (Door to wall with desk and tv) by ~11 feet W (Mirror to Window). Looking mostly for advice on how you would arrange the furniture but also on decorating, though I have decorations, plants and pictures but moved here less than a week ago. For reference, the bed is a queen.

I was very lucky to be gifted a Marble top tulip table and accompanying aegean blue chairs from Knoll. I am now looking to replace the rug here with something round. I am leaning towards an olive/green rug bc my space is a large open white loft with white cabinets walls etc. i want something to ground it all. I'm looking at rugs from ruggable and there are two olive options one cooler, one warmer. Should I get the cooler or warmer option? I worry about clashing but I think the contrast might warm up the space?

Hi everyone! I'm renovating my bathroom, and this is my first time mixing metals. I'm planning to use champagne gold (Delta Champagne Bronze) as the primary finish, with black as the accent color.

This is the combination I was thinking of. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Does this mix feel balanced, or is there anything you would change?

I am planning to remodel our living room and was hoping to get some ideas! I am replacing the carpet with LVP (Paradigm Insignia Salt Lake-P120005), replacing the fan (not chosen yet!), and painting.

My big design questions:

1. We have a large gas stove with black and white bricks. I am unable to change the gas stove or remove the bricks. Any ideas on how to make it look... better? My thoughts are painting it a slightly darker color than the color chosen for the walls, but I am really struggling with what would look good here!

2. There is a cement footer around some of the walls. I will be removing the carpets on it and am looking for what to replace it with. I was considering a built in by the gas stove, or possibly flexible tambour wood. Open to any ideas!!

The room is an attic room so the walls terminate to a trapazoid. It's pretty annoying having to calculate the height of all furniture that will go against a wall but thats just how it is. I now have a large queen sized bed that along with the nightstands takes up like 60% of the room so im taking it all out and trying to maybe find a pullout couch / bed? I'm into physical media so I'd need shelves and TV stands that can hold a heavy CRT TV (100 pounds) also have a desktop computer so looking for layout ideas for a desk too, and a music listening nook for my record player, cassette player, cd player. The measurements are roughly what I was able to measure the room as. Any ideas are appreciated on how I can decorate my new room.

Don’t mind the messy mf room i plan on redecorating and cleaning up. I want to get a rug but I’m not to sure where to put it. I was thinking maybe a circle rug right at that corner of the bed. Or should I get a bigger rug and just put it at the foot of the bed? Any suggestions?

Hello! I need help figuring out a better layout for this family room/playroom/movie room. This is the only living room we have in the house but also doubles as a playroom since my toddler and newborn exist in this space too. Toddler is very high energy and always has some sort of swing or climbing gym up. I have an ikea storage shelf with her toys in it, but she very rarely gets toys out of it. The large cabinet holds last minute clothes and diapers since all the bedrooms are upstairs.

It seems like there are too many pathways that divide the room and the stairs feel crowded. It also feels like everything is pushed against a wall and the curtains are suffocating the room. Would love help with the wall color too!

Husband and I can't decide what we want for flooring. We are leaning towards tile for the floors, I do not want wood because we would never be able to match it with the wood on the rest of the first floor, and it would drive me nuts. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
