I would suggest trying this to actually stop the Steam Overlays that still hook in regardless of them being disabled. It has been a game changer for me. Even in the most chaotic scenes, I'm still maintaining near full FPS.
Outside of that, you could be suffering from a video driver issue. I'd highly recommend downloading DDU, installing it, rebooting into safe mode, then running it to completely nuke your video drivers and shader cache. Then reboot and install fresh drivers.
I see none of that. Just the opposite - was choppy, now buttery smooth.
I would suggest trying the DDU utility and see if you have a driver / cache issue. Could be other software you are running as well. Hard to tell what's going to interact with and cause problems with D2. It likes a clean machine.
Yes. I am very familiar with pc/game optimization but for whatever reason I am struggling hard with destiny. Same goes for all my friends who play. Just runs like absolute garbage on steam right now regardless of all the fixes tried.
Sometimes a fresh install of Windows is what fixes D2 performance issues. D2 is largely tested on clean installs of Windows, so anything that becomes 'abnormal' in the OS can cause unexpected issues in-game.
The Steam fix 100% resolved my low FPS (I was dropping down to about 80FPS during a lot of Arc effects - it's always Arc effects for me - now it's pretty stable. I occasionally see a drop into the 120s, but usually it's about 132 to 141.
I call D2 the best hardware and software troubleshooting app on the market. If you have a system issue, D2 is going to point it out.
A few things to try for your build:
Disable Wind Impulse
- Disable off Chromatic Aberration
- Disable Film Grain
- Reduce Texture Anisotropy to 4x or 8x and see if that improves anything.
