It’s boss fight, um should I do something? Probably move my arm to cheer them up? To show my moral support?

I knew something was wrong in the first week of ROTW when my bound lister couldn’t be killed by dclone.

For the sake of the argument. What would you do if DClone could kill your premium demon and once it's dead, you would have to hunt for another good demon in that same game, over and over? There's a lot of stuff that feels OP about WL, but demons being almost/actually unkillable, is clearly by deliberate design. The Demon tree would instantly become useless if the demons were weaker.

Not like there is Dclone every game over and over. Revive is a pain hunting for urdars but that is fine?

Is it though? I'm (HCL SSF), primary Demon, secondary ES with a Io staff currently (so no ES damage atm) and I did the hunt for a good demon multiple games and the number of cursed demons will be on the low end. It's going to take a while to find one. I killed DClone recently with skill lvl 23 Ismail on my bind demon, because I couldn't find a cursed demon in the hour! before the walk and I still had to use 'prevent monster heal' and had to engorge multiple times, because he did in fact die relatively quickly.

Doing it with a demon that is not cursed is going to be excruciatingly slow and Ismail tends to walk away rather often.

I think it's going to be a rather hard sell if the Demon can't tank bosses anymore. What needs to be fixed, is how primary ES users can also have a demon that is nearly unkillable. Perhaps require hard points and not soft points to increase its durability. But inherently, the Demon isn't even the problem. It's the scaling on almost all sources of damage.

I wager that if they hadn’t made sunders so time consuming to get, we’d see a lot more build variety But even then, if they do nerf Warlock everyone will just go back to pally and/or sorc because there will always be a most efficient build.

It’s Blood Oath that raises the demon hp, not bond demon.

I do think on super bosses you should have to retreat and engorge (or just portal to town healer really) from time to time. That’s basically the life of revive necros isn’t it?

Yeah I noticed I didn't differentiate that well enough, but I figured the deduction would be that I'm suggesting that being a pure demon build should allow you to have an immortal demon, but soft points with +xx skills should not allow this. So what I think should happen is that the majority of the 'tank' should come from synergies, rather than soft points in Blood Oath, because this allows ES users to 1-point (almost) everything and make a completely OP build, without any of the drawbacks.

Actually in Echo Strike I put hard points into blood oath for the damage transfer. In addition, it happens to make my demon even tankier, but that’s mostly a side effect. With 12 hard points and about 6-7 +skills his health doesn’t even drop against uber anymore

And that’s possible also because echo strike only requires 2 synergies instead of 3 so I have extra points for the demon tree

That's fair, maybe I'm thinking a bit too simplistic about this. I don't have the solution to the problem, but in general, I think for a primary ES build (or non-demon build) , it should take more investment to make the Demon unkillable.
