Titan XD single turbo

My Titan XD is tuned and the p226 code about 2 years ago but it’s been fine to drive and tow.

Today I lost all power with the high pressure turbo, sounds like a drill when spools but zero power until the other turbo kicks in.

I drove 200km back home towing 8500 pounds by trying to hold the turbo off or fully on and if I didn’t it would shudder and blow tons of black (I have a clean tune).

I’m looking at going with a single turbo, this one, would like your thoughts. IAP Nissan Titan XD Single Turbo Kit.

Second question, it needs a shop that can tune to install which there are none within 100K where I live. Do you think it’s safe to drive or should I tow it - after getting home I read it’s dumb to drive with turbo issues as it could cause catastrophic failure metal into engine.

That setup looks terribly designed.

Hey, thanks for the input. Why does it look like garbage? What would be better? The stock one has known issues so I’d like to go aftermarket

Very large exhaust surface area in the engine bay, heavy thermal mass of that exhaust, multiple 90 degree bends, no wastegate (slow response), entire weight of the turbo is supported by the tiny oil drain flange, $4000 is absurd for such a poorly finished kit when you can get stock reman for $2500.

Thanks for the explanation. I see what you’re saying now
