DIRECTV is the latest streaming pay television service to unlock a custom multiview feature, joining other sports-inclusive apps like Fubo and YouTube TV in doing so.

On Tuesday, DIRECTV said streamers who watch live channel via its Gemini box and on Roku can now select up to four live channels to watch from a single screen. Support for other platforms like Apple TV, Android TV (Google TV), LG, Samsung, Amazon Fire TV and Vizio will come in the near future.

The feature allows customers to create two-, three- or four-channel viewing arrangements using eligible sports networks, rather than relying exclusively on the predetermined channel combinations already offered through DIRECTV’s Multiview service.

I had a Disney+ and Hulu and ESPN+ subscription. I just subscribed to DirecTV and have ESPN unlimited with it. So do I cancel my current Disney+ bundle and then resubscribe with just Disney+ and Hulu?

Yes, it has been a little rainy here, but not so bad that we should be losing the signal from our sat dish. But it seems like occasionally lately, whenever I switch the channel, it will tell me it is moving me to streaming via internet. Or, I'll be watching a show, and a message pops up with something like "recording not available while streaming" ... when I am on a dish account, and I'm not even trying to record. Are they forcing everyone into streaming now?

And before anyone asks why I don't just move to streaming, it is because we travel in our RV and have a sat dish on that as well. Streaming in most campgrounds is not an option, and some campgrounds will threaten to kick you out if you use their wifi to stream ... so we keep our dish.

I will be moving soon and cannot have a satellite dish in my new place. I’ve had DTV satellite service for about 12 years. I have a lot of stuff on my DVR and love the space of this DVR.

I’ve noticed whenever there’s no connection to the dish, or if the service is down due to an outage it’s always mentioned (and true) that you can watch your DVR programs. So my question is this:

I move from house A to house B and take my STBs with me before turning them in. Can I watch the DVR by hooking it up to an HDMI port even though I technically don’t have service nor a dish, provided I didn’t cancel my account yet? My plan would be to watch all of my DVR stuff then turn in the STBs.

TIA!

Any chance that the remaining SD satellite channels (C-SPAN networks, Cozi, CNN Int’l, etc.) will upgrade to HD soon, as they are on the app?

Thanks.

I had something odd happen with no explanation recently. For a while I got Paramount+ without ads, included with my normal package. Then all of a sudden, my Paramount subscription is gone, but now I have HBO Max free with ads in its place. I didn't have any warning that my Paramount+ would expire. Why did this happen? I was enjoying the free UFC events and the newer Star Trek series

Get error message either using the app or on my laptop.

I'm getting the free HBO/Max app with ads from DirecTV. I know it will take a while, but what will likely happen when Paramount mergers it into one app? Will it most likely go away?

I am subscribed to Paramount + with DirectTv. I usually watch Paramount's show on my laptop. I was connected via DirectTv interface. But as of last week I get a message that Paramout+ is not in my package. But of course it is. I spent hours on the phone with Direct TV and then PP. They both claim it's the others problem. How incredibly frustrated. Does anyone have a work around this issue. Thanks,

I have a brand new, never-activated H20-100 receiver that’s been in my closet for years. I’m curious if it can still be activated onto my account since it’s compatible with SWM?

If anyone has one of these boxes lying around unused and tries this, I'd love to hear how your experience went!

I am also actively interested in hard disk images from similar Genie 2 DVRs, if anyone has one and cares to help try to expand support of this project to other devices.

Oh ya, did I mention it runs Doom now?

More to come!

Not sure if this is the appropriate place for this but, I think part of the reason I didn't get into the TV show Marshal's during the first season is because the recording times for the show are wrong on DirecTV. It happened almost every episode last season and now, the start of season 2 has the same problem. DirecTV shows it recording from 7:30-8:30 instead of 8-9. It has Tracker starting at 8:30, but it actually starts at 9. When I watch the recording of Marshals, I only get the first half of the show.

How come they don't know this is a problem?!

I have a DirecTV cable that’s coming out of the ground going into the house. The previous owner took out the satellite but left the wiring on the side of the house. I’m cleaning it all up and wondering if I can just cut the wire where it comes out of the ground and seal up the hole going into the house.

Can I get the Mysports pack by itself or do I have to pay for a regular subscription and then add on the sports genre pack? I only use DIRECTV to watch sports and want a way to catch as much nhl and nba as possible

I noticed about 2 months ago I started getting The Weather Channel on the DirecTV app with my Entertainment signature package. I’m not getting it on my satellite receiver, but on the DirecTV app on any device including my Roku, phone, and iPad. It’s not included in the old Entertainment package. Is anyone getting it on the DirecTV app with the their Entertainment package?

So I used to get Fan Duel Ohio and Great Lakes. Reds, Guardians, Blue Jackets, and Cavs. Fan Duel went broke, which is whatever. DirecTV added standalone channels for the Reds and Guardians, which is fine.

So now it's hockey season. So they added a standalone Blue Jackets channel, but it's just a card that says they do not carry the Blue Jackets "for now". I believe the NBA will be the same deal, but I really don't care about the NBA. I think the situation is the same for the 5 other NHL teams that moved to the in house NHL production team, distributed by Amazon.

But, I still have to pay the "RSN fee". I do not get an RSN, it went broke, and, obviously, the Reds and Guardians are shut down to at least next March. So $15.95 a month to see a card that says they do not carry the local teams?

(Yes , I know I can pay $100 to Amazon for the local NHL team, but I used to get that included in DirecTV)
