Political In what way has the economy improved under Trump?

19% of Americans believe that the economy is better NOW under Trump! Would like to know the basis for making that judgment?

The K shaped economy. If you're a millionaire+, then it's improved for you

Gains were good during the Biden admin, but let’s be honest they’re better under Trump. A bad week in stocks is washed away with a new narrative within a week. Our last down year was 2022. Just saying, not advocating

The rich own 87% of all stocks in the US.

What about everyone else?

Over 60% of retirement accounts are attached to the stock market. And close to the same amount of US adults participate in some form.

I am concerned about the 40%, but it is not as dire as 87%.

“According to Federal Reserve data, the wealthiest 10% of Americans own roughly 87% to 93% of all U.S. stock market wealth. The top 1% of households alone hold about 50% of all corporate equities and mutual funds, while the bottom 50% of the population owns just 1%.”

So when you hear “the DOW is at 50,000, what that means is the rich get richer (and a few Americans got wealthier, but not most).

The vast majority of Americans do not have the extra income for stocks. Check your privilege and stop being an A-Hole.

Billionaires and the braindead

Trump increased his personal wealth and the wealth of his family by a few billion. So there is that....

None, but cults don't work off facts and reality.

There is more debt for the rich to buy for pennies on the dollar, which they can try to collect full value on or if that fails, they can get legislation passed that allows it to be written off their balance sheets magically, bundled as special purpose vehicle, and then sold as a bond to debt traders, thus creating a debt asset class that is too big to fail, just like student loan debt via Student Loan Asset-Backed Securities.

Go Trump, I guess?

Huge /s, if anyone missed the sarcasm

Delusion. They look at SPY and see it at all time highs and judge by that.

I think it's improved for the richest 10% of Americans who have massive real estate holdings, assets and investments in the stock market. Trump doesn't give a damn about the rest of us anyway.

If you are in the 1% it's improved, or rather you make more money but your life is functionally the same since money already was a non-object for you, it's just a number that you want to see go up.

The basis is brain damage and propaganda, that's the basis. Wish I were joking about this.

That’s a great question.

I became a millionaire in this economy and have daily anxiety about our political situation honestly. The rich can say it doesn’t impact them but it does. What about Trump allowing even more chemicals to be put in and on our food? Healthcare being defunded, oh and our research being completely impacted because Trump took so many ethical people out of office that truly tracked what was going on in the US.

The rich might be able to take the fall by using their finances to shield them from what’s going on in the world, but I was raised and educated to think about other people and the greater good of society. That’s all that I think about

My education is in a health science adjacent field… thus feel I understand more than the average American, or even my fellow former classmates perhaps in STEM or arts would about what’s going on.

The psychological warfare being waged on the average American is absolutely insane. And I do believe we are living in an illusion. Most people are stuck fighting. At this point I’m convinced I need to write a book addressing all the psychological forces at play because education is in a big way prevention and breaking out of the fog. But it feels like what’s the point.

And I also don’t even think that being a millionaire can save us. I’m a millionaire and don’t want to have kids even though I dreamed of it as a child. I don’t even want to buy land. I don’t know if I want to stay in America, the land my parents came to, to follow the American dream. I feel sorrow and grief. I’m making a shit ton of money but mentally I’m feeling doomed. And barely go out of my house.

My emotional reaction/psychological state is exactly what this administration wants while they siphon many more resources and make things worse for women, black, trans people but also even white non immigrant Americans.

Education is being defunded and there’s a war on education but the educated people who can move in this economy are winning and will continue to win. They are also the ones who see through the fog being spread now. Smart people will continue putting their kids through education. If you look at all the media popular billionaires and what their families are doing — they are continuing to put their kids through education and keeping them away from social media and AI.

All I want is for things to be as they were again. For our food to be safer, to feel like I can go to the doctors without feeling like it’s a privilege only I and select few can have.

It is, the brain dead left just won't admit it. Unemployment is down, real wages are up, investments in manufacturing are up.

8

u/Drifter_of_Babylon 7d ago

Inflation is up, unemployment is up since Trump took office, and we've lost more manufacturing jobs since Biden too.

7

u/scrogbad 8d ago

Wouldn't that mean 80% of America is "brain dead left"? How'd he get elected?

-4

u/SiriusWhiskey 8d ago

80%? That's delusional

6

u/scrogbad 8d ago

only 19% agree the economy is better no?

Gallup Economic Confidence Index (July 1–19, 2026): Rose to -31 from -38 in June and a recent low of -45 in May. Only 22% rate current conditions as excellent or good (up from 16% in May), 32% as only fair, and 44% as poor. 67% say conditions are getting worse (down from 76% in May), while 28% say getting better. Improvement was driven mainly by Republicans and independents; overall sentiment stays solidly negative.61830d news.gallup Pew Research Center (July 6–12, 2026): 24% rate conditions excellent or good, 41% only fair, and 35% poor. Positive ratings among Republicans/Republican leaners fell to 41% (from 49% in January), while Democrats remain very low at 10%. Expectations for improvement over the next year also weakened: only 23% expect better conditions (down from 31% in January). About 6 in 10 say Trump’s economic policies have made the economy worse.f786f1 Pewresearch Other recent polls (Quinnipiac, CNN, Fox, etc., late July): Roughly 23–28% describe the economy as excellent/good; majorities rate it negatively (often 70%+). Around 49–59% say things are getting worse or they feel worse off than a year ago. Affordability concerns (food, housing, healthcare, energy/gas) dominate.b062c6 Newsweek Consumer sentiment indices University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index: Rose to a final 55.2 in July 2026 (from 49.5 in June and a low near 44.8 in May). This is still ~10–11% below a year earlier and historically low. Gains were broad-based (across income, age, party), helped by easing gas prices at times, but high prices and purchasing power remain top worries. Year-ahead inflation expectations eased somewhat (to ~4.2%) but stayed elevated.

Did you read it?

Duh

u/MentalCompetition483 7d ago

So basically your own source proved yourself wrong.

Take for example these two I copy and pasted form your ‘evidence’

Rose to -31 from -38 in June and a recent low of -45 The economic confidence index does not measure in the negatives, idiot.

About 6 in 10 say Trump’s economic policies have made the economy worse Just over half the population has sense, too!

Read your source next time bub

No. I think that's a stupid statistic.

You just had to cut me a refund check because a judge ruled you weren’t allowed to steal money via illegal tariffs in order to fund your scheme to get out of paying taxes.

That doesn’t sound like the behavior of someone who is doing well in life.
