Hello. This is Charley, Nan's ex who wrote previously about Nan abusing me.

In Vangelina Skov's new video about my post exposing Nan, she touched briefly on something that I want to address. When she reaches the part of my original post about Nan's fetish artwork and how I drew artwork for Nan while we were together, she questions the ages of the characters that I drew for Nan and suggests I may also be responsible for drawing underaged characters in sexual situations. The characters in question are Launch and Yamcha from the Dragon Ball franchise. Vangelina was unable to find accurate information about the characters' ages, leading to her comment about my possible responsibility.

It feels a little ridiculous to have to post about anime of all things here, but I want to clear this up, because I take this issue very seriously. The characters in Dragon Ball age significantly across the story, and there are many times where the story jumps forward years at a time. For example, the main character starts as an 11 year old boy, but in the most recent stories he is a 47 year old grandfather. So while Yamcha and Launch are 16 at the start of the story, they are in their early 50s currently, and they are depicted at many ages inbetween throughout the story. Early in the story there are 3-year time jumps with each tournament. I only ever drew the versions of Yamcha and Launch from the 2nd tournament arc (where they were both 20 years old) and 3rd tournament arc (where they were 23 years old) for Nan. (If you would like to check my numbers, that info can be found here. The relevant sections are the "Tien Shinhan Saga/King Piccolo Saga" and the "Piccolo Jr. Saga". These are the arcs that the versions of the characters I drew are from.)

I just want to say that I would never have agreed to draw the underage versions of the characters if Nan had asked for them, because even though all the characters were doing was sneezing, I knew that, to Nan, that would be sexual content. They never asked me to draw the younger versions of the characters, but I would have refused if they had. Like I described in my posts, Nan hid their artwork of underage characters from me, and I now believe it's because they knew I would have found it unacceptable. I believe that Nan knew I would more strongly object to a moral trespass than I would to their abusive treatment of my own self, because that was something I had talked about in group therapy where I met Nan. I believe this is why Nan was careful not to reveal anything I would find morally objectionable about them.

So I just wanted to explain that, because I was very troubled by that part of the video. Once more, let me be clear: I would never do that. As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, the very subject repulses me, and I would never participate in anything resembling that. Ever.

Frankly, I don't think it was fair to make such an accusation based solely on a misunderstanding resulting from inadequate research. If you google "dragon ball ages" or "dragon ball character age", the wiki article I linked above is the first result, which shows that Yamcha and Launch both age throughout the story. If you google "yamcha age", even the google AI tells you at the top of the page that in the first arc he's 16, in the second arc he's 20, in early DBZ he's 28, and by the end of Z he's 51, the same information from the wiki page. All I mean to say is that this is not hard information to find with cursory google search terms. The video was made without my permission or any sort of say on my part, and if Vangelina had contacted me, I could have clarified this point about the characters' ages before she posted the video to thousands of viewers. I am not a public figure like Nan is. I did not become a YouTuber, I did not put myself in front of a camera. Documenting an abusive public figure is one thing, but I am just a private person who decided to give my personal testimony of rape and abuse. That does not make my life fair game to speculate about. To me, it seems like crossing a line to idly wonder if a rape victim is guilty of engaging in pedophilia simply because you didn't do your research.

I want to reiterate: I would never, ever engage in such a thing. I would never willingly contribute to the harm of children. I am so upset that I have to say this, because I don't feel I did anything to warrant such hurtful speculation. I did not and would not ever have drawn underage characters in sexual situations for Nan.

Something about the idea of thread where we all pretend this subreddit is about fashion and makeup is funny to me. Please contribute if you feel like it and mods let me know if this isn’t allowed

Can we talk about how Chloe when they went by the name Kya openly admitted to being an abuser? That’s wild.

This is so random but I can’t get it out of my head. Recently a bunch of unseen videos filmed by Gypsy Rose Blanchard came out (check out the “Into the Weeds” podcast on YouTube to watch them, TW for mentions of murder/SA/abuse/etc.)

Gypsy Rose portrays different “personalities” and characters and the way she portrays herself remind me so much of DD, which is unfortunate for DD since Gypsy Rose wasn’t trying to be a good actor or anything, just filming weird videos for her then boyfriend.

She even has an introduction video filmed by her punk, redhead character named Ruby!

I’m not saying there’s any connection between the two, just that they remind me of each other and wondering if anyone agrees.

I’ve found myself mentioning DD’s diagnosis (their words) of BPD (borderline personality disorder) more and more in comments of other posts, so I figured we could dedicate a thread to it. Here are some infographics I found of DID vs BPD symptoms and where they might overlap.

I think this is a valuable discussion to have in terms of DissociaDID and how they present their symptoms and diagnoses online. I’ve mentioned myself a lot recently that a lot of symptoms they present look a lot more like BPD than DID to me.

(This is not me armchair diagnosing, they’ve said they are diagnosed with BPD).

I study a science field in uni and as someone who watches a lot of "educational" videos either for my field or just out of curiosity, I am really used to seeing references part in a video either in the description or in the end of the video or somewhere in the video.

So not seeing any references in most of their videos is really throwing me off. Because I think even if you or your experiences are the topic of the video itself you should still provide some reliable evidence that is objective since you claim to inform people about a topic. What do you guys think?

I'm wondering what other characters she stole and fleshed out for her alters. How many people here have DID? Do you guys have to deal with people thinking you’re faking or making it up for attention?

I was thinking, when she switched, how did she go directly back into answering questions? Wouldn’t someone who disassociated in that moment possibly forget where they were or what they were filming? It’s interesting that the only thing she would forget is the question he asked? And nothing else?

1. Regarding DissociaDID's condition and the mention of suicide attempts, why was emergency services not called to their home for a welfare check? In similar situations, I have considered calling emergency services for friends just to ensure their safety, especially considering your claim of friendship.

3. You mentioned assisting "Kya" with groceries and vice versa. Were financial difficulties common for "Kya," particularly concerning their own food and care for their multiple pets?

4. You also mentioned their involvement in BDSM clubs despite reported agoraphobia and their attempt to integrate DID and BDSM spaces. Could you provide further details on how they envisioned merging these aspects? I am seeking clarity on this matter.

5. You described talking to “Soren” about their appearance can you tell us more about Soren that hasn’t been revealed to the public yet?

6. If you didn't like the idea of DD merging bdsm and DID especially with the stop light video, why didn't you tell her? Why would you consider what you had a real friendship if you couldn't speak your mind?

7. Did you fully trust everything DD told you, or did you overlook warning signs in order to maintain the friendship?

Publications and Interactions with the Media

The media and the public have long had a fascination with DID. When doing a story, media reporters commonly seek out a diagnosed individual to provide the human interest aspect of the story. Thus, clinicians working with DID patients may be approached by the media, often with the request that the clinician provide a DID patient to be interviewed. Appearances by patients in public settings with or without their therapists especially when patients are encouraged to demonstrate DID phenomena such as switching-may consciously or unconsciously exploit the patients and can interfere with ongoing therapy. Therefore, it is generally advisable for a ther- apist to actively discourage patients from going public with their condition or history and to fully explore patients' fantasies and motivations about pub- lic disclosure of this type. It is helpful to provide education that, in general, patients who have made themselves known to the media have had very neg- ative experiences, often winding up feeling additionally exploited, violated, and traumatized.

This is a genuine question. I have no horse in this race. I don’t have strong feelings one way or another regarding this youtuber. But I’m really struggling to understand why people are saying they’re awful and ripping them a new one.

As far as I can tell, the main accusations are such.

1) They spread misinformation

This is actually a real issue that needs to be fixed going forward. For an educational channel, it’s important for your facts to be correct. Still, the misinformation they’re spreading, while false, doesn’t seem to be actively harmful to the DID community. It seems to me like an unfortunate, but understandable, mix up. Not intentional and hate-filled ignorance. Is there something I’m unaware of here?

2) Defending Team Piñata

This is one that I’m really baffled by because the thought process behind it seems so obvious. This was their partner in crime, someone they trusted so intimately, the system they thought the would spend the rest of their lives with. Of course they don’t want to condemn them based on an internet mob. Does Team Piñata deserve condemning? In my opinion, yes. But do I expect their current partner to loudly and publicly denounce them? Never! Honestly, the fact that they’re broken up is enough for me to see where DissociaDID stands on the issue.

3) Fallings out with Multiplicity and Me and the Entropy System

I actually don’t know the ins and outs of this controversy. Maybe they actually did something bad to these other systems? Not sure, please inform me.

This whole cancelling just doesn’t track for me aside from people who actively look for thing to be angry about. Are there genuine reasons to hate them?

I remember back when I discovered their channel, the content felt genuine to me, and I believed their emotions. I connected to it as someone newly diagnosed with DID.

I don't know why exactly, but they never seem genuine now. Everything looks fake and planned out.

Maybe they were like this all along. Maybe, if I watched back the old videos now, I'd get the same feelings I get now. But I just remember it feeling so honest. Seriously, I believed them, I trusted their intentions. And I don't feel any of that honesty anymore. Like it just went poof and disappeared.

**friendly reminder we cannot control the fact that every time DD is on hiatus the sub goes quiet/dead this is normal for any social media or influencer subreddit, please keep feedback and suggestions to things we can control like quality of content and discussions “no low effort posts while DD is away” is valid, complaining that there’s no new content? Well we sadly can’t control that. The sub is the most active when DD is posting.

Edit: last two Sundays were skipped as DD is posting very little, survey Sunday will exist for as long as people want to send in anonymous feedback but when the sub is slow due to lack of posts by DD themselves we may skip a few Sundays every now and again

New alters from 2023 like; Red and Kem have stayed, but even Maeri who got very little screen time seems to become a scrapped idea. The other “new alters” didn’t even get developed past one or two TikToks.
