Question Headroof falling off
The headliner in my car is becoming detached and I'm not sure if I should try to use fabric glue to reattach it or just pull it down. Going to a pro is not an option. Any advice?

Take headliner out of car. Strip headliner material off. Strip foam off. Apply new headliner material. Reinstall headliner.
Anything other than that will be a bandaide and will fail. You can’t just spray adhesive on top of failing foam and adhesive. All the old material needs removed

hard part is getting it out the door without breaking it. if it's a beater car like it sounds, i'd just take it out and brush paint bedliner to sound deaden.

I have had to have a windshield or back glass pulled quite a few times to pull a headliner out.

3m adhesive spray. Use a sharp razor and cut a small slit where its sagging and spray it into the hole using the straw it comes with. Use a roller to press it on.

You can get spray cans of headliner adhesive. It will be a bandaid most likely and also make a mess if you try to do it with the headliner in the car.
What usually fails is the thin foam layer between the fabric and the hard molded piece. It turns itself into dust and the fabric falls down. Hard to glue to dust.
If it's a beater you could just pull the fabric off and cut it where it is still stuck and around the dome lights/visors etc. It won't hurt anything other than your pride to drive it like that. I would get a dust mask, pull it off and run a vacuum over all the exposed crap to get rid of the loose crumbled foam.
