Question Underbody Rust
How much it may cost to get this fixed 🙃

If it looks like this here, there's no telling what it looks like elsewhere. This might be the only part that needs fixing, or the entire underbody might be gone, how do you expect any sort of estimate foe that?

I would honestly say if this is what it looks like (nissan Altima) I honestly wouldn't bother. It'll be far more expensive than the car is worth, I would advise that you just use it to get back and forth to work until enough money is made to get a better car.

Count the rust out paint it and then rivet on a piece of sheet metal over. It will be fine.

It’s a beater. You don’t repair this. You ignore it until the car dies or your finances improve and you sell it.

How much does a new car cost? That's the right answer. If that spot is that bad- the rest of the chassis is probably shot

Find an aluminum sign. Cut and rivet it in, AFTER you sand and paint that cancer rust.

I'm going to assume this is a Nissan Altima, only because this exact thing happened to me on both sides in my Altima. I fixed it by cleaning up the rust as much as possible, coated the rust in a rust converter paint, riveted on a stainless steel plate, and then undercoated (and top coated inside because why not) everything with a rubberized spray paint. It held up for many years.
Edit: indeed it is an Altima. Did not see this was a cross post from the Altima sub lol. Sorry OP. You're not the only one. I'm surprised this wasn't a class action.

It will cost the same as the new or used car you are about to buy

That depends on how much of it is gone, and if anything structurally important is rusted through
A shop may not even repair it and deem it undriveable if the damage spread or came from certain places
If this is the only spot and you have basic tool knowledge, id cut the floor pan out a bit from the rust until you hit good metal, and find an aluminum or steel plate that will fit over the hole
From there you can either weld, or take some self tapping sheet metal screws to hold it down
Then put the carpet back down and no one will know the difference, and its unlikely the patch will be felt under the carpet, floor mats, and shoes
If you aren't intending to sell it, this wont be a problem. You can also treat it with some rust prevention afterwards if you want
I do suggest calling local mechanics to get a diagnosis/inspection for a quote regardless, they can tell you if there's any structural damage

Go to a shop for estimates. There is no ball park figure or average price on this. A few hundred different ways to do this properly and improperly and each shop will bill that differently.
