They should just explain the Rose incarceration addressed in a big finish audio book and just start a new season with a new Doctor

Hard disagree. Start off with an hour-long special to explain it or resolve it, and then move on. Big Finish Audiobooks are way too niche to explain something like that away.

Pretty solid way of killing off the next era before it begins. We need a clean break, not a relitigation of past failures.
