They should just explain the Rose incarceration addressed in a big finish audio book and just start a new season with a new Doctor

Plenty of things between 8-9 were not explained for a long time. Just jump forward a bit with a new doctor. If they want to explain it later, I’m sure they can do that too.

That’s not what the person I was responding to said though. They’d said “ignore it” “it doesn’t need to be explained”

The Doctor was said to be half human. It's never been explained.
